I was diagnosed with inflammitory arthritis about 15yrs ago and rheumatoid arthritis about 9 months ago. I basically was told no cure but can take nsaids, pain killers ,etc for the pain. I accepted this at first but the pain gradually got worse. I thought surely something else might work. I got on the net and started researching.
Lots of drs. are very skeptical of this including my own dr.
Some believe that lupus, ra and other diseases are caused by a bacterial infection in the body. Makes sense when you read everything. I asked my dr. if I could try minocin. He has a couple of other patients trying it and said sure but told me he was skeptical. (This evidently isn't taught in medical school).
I have been taking minocin for a week now and already I can not believe the difference. I feel like I'm dreaming! It's just too good to be true. I can put my arms up over my head again, I can sleep on either side with minimum pain. I can take the clothes out of the wash, I can pick up a gallon of milk without feeling like I am tearing up my shoulders. I can get up in the morning with minor pain right now etc. etc.
My dr. still says that's crazy, LOL. I don't care just keep giving me the minocin. The weird thing is my IBS is also under control right now which is also unbelievable. Not sure if that has anything to do with this either.
There is still pain, dont get me wrong, I'm not cured but the pain is tolerable right now.
I take 200 mg. per day. My dr. will do the bloodwork again in a few weeks.
There are other websites but this one was one of the best that I found. If you click on medical history and then each persons name they give their stories.
My understanding is that this helps about 50% of the patients.
Some people do get worse for a few months, some don't see results until later and some see results sooner.
The minocin makes me a little dizzy but then again I'm a dizzy type person anyways.
There is also a list of drs. in different areas that will try the antibiotic protocol.
Sorry this is so long. Probably will be the longest one I ever post here.
