DH is ok with SDMT, but beyond that, he wont get on a rollercoaster. Looking at POV videos he said Slinky Dog looks alot bigger/longer/faster and possibly have more drops than SDMT. For those that rode it, would you say that this is pretty accurate? Or would he be ok?

Same here. I can do mine train and btmrr but that’s it for coasters. We have a fpp for slinky in early August and my family hopes I don’t bail at last second lol.

It's pretty comparable to 7DMT. I rode it opening day. I'd say the best way to describe is that it's 7DMT turned up 10-20%. Ride length is a bit longer, it goes just a bit faster, drops are very similar (no big ones) but maybe slightly larger or more frequent. If he can do 7DMT, he should be OK on SDD. Some of the "drops" are more like what BTMRR has, up and down motions, but far smoother. It's really a lot of fun.

I normally don’t do well on coasters, but we loved SDMT and rode it 3x! SDD was much scarier and faster though, and I closed my eyes through most of it. I’m glad I rode it at least once, but I probably won’t again.

Thank you! He HATED BTMRR so that part may what takes him off this list, but if it does, kid gets his MB and gets to ride it twice. :thumbsup2

It really is much, much more comparable to 7DMT than it is to BTMRR. I only mentioned BTMRR because it has a section where it has several small up/down motions, but they are so much smoother than BTMRR. It's not violent at all, it's a pretty gentle up/down, think of going "Whheeeeeee" as you go over them instead of being whipped around.

the difference between 7DMT and SDD is that SDD ride vehicle is larger so you really can't see the track in front of you for most of the ride so you never know if there's a drop or twist. I would say in terms of speed I think both are similar but SDD just feels faster cause you don't know where you're going. (hope that makes sense)
If you are ok with BTMR you'll be fine with SDD

Thank you - me and DD are fine with rollercoasters, DH is no good with BTMRR but can tolerate SDMT. :)
