Answer to don't you get sick of going to WDW?

When they say Disney again? I tell them Disney is my religion and I must make an annual pilgrimage to the sacred shrine that is WDW.

that might just be the only religion you can get away with mentioning on the DIS:rotfl:

People expect it from me since I keep renewing my AP so they don't ask. ;)

I think I have finally figured it out! Everyone says to me "Disney, Again!?" And now I think this is the best explaination. Getting a taste of Disney is like getting an sample of good food at a fancy grocery store (like Trader Joes). You walk in and sample a small morsal of food (say Soarin) and you want more so you may get to have a few more samples (ride it 4 more times during your trip) but you never get your fill. That's how I feel about Disney I never feel like I can ride ToT enough, walk into the Magic Kingdom during rope drop enough times, or even see the cute kids with all that excitment on their faces. I tell everyone it's the only place in the world where every morning feels like Christmas.

Beach vacations are fun and relaxing but for that tear jerking moment...you can only get that at Disney.

We get this question all the time, but this answer says it all. I know it sounds crazy, but I don't think I could ever get enough of Disney or Disney Cruise Line :cloud9:

One of my sisters just asked me that yesterday.

I told her that WDW is so large that there is alot of things we've never seen or done yet. So we are going again to do alot of our favorites and a few of the things we've never done.

No one else asks me and DH doesn't talk about it much or tell me when people say "going again???".

Oh, no one gets me except other Disney people. Not even my friends, who I take with me, often pay for, take to the best restaurants, and make awesome touring plans based solely around what THEY want to do and fill their heads with useless Disney knowledge. And they have a wonderful time and can't shut up about it for a while, then tell me a month later "It's fun, but I don't understand why you keep going back." :headache:

One of my dearest friends said to me once, when I took him to the Poly for his birthday, "My God, you could just go to Hawaii for what you spend at the Polynesian. Why don't you go to Hawaii instead?" I replied, "Because Hawaii doesn't have the Magic Kingdom." That kind of sums it up for me. :cloud9:

And ftr: if anyone asks me "Disney, again??" My response is always, "Yes, I KNOW! Isn't it exciting!" And then they stop talking to me for fear I'll divulge any plans I've started to make :rotfl:

That's priceless! I tell people up front, don't ask if you don't want to hear because once I get going...

Mary

Thanks SkierPete and KorieDWnut! I just realized I was way OT for the thread, so thanks for the indulgence! :goodvibes

Back to our regularly scheduled program: We went to MK for ONE day in 2007, but when we planned this trip, people actually said to us, "But you just went to WDW!" So I s'pose even us newbies get that reaction!

I don't mind that, but I do feel slighly guilty for those I know can't afford a vacation, even with the great deals or value resorts (although I'm sure it's less money than they think).

Ok, is this a symptom of Disneyitis, I was taking DD 10 to the store with me. As we were driving, there was construction with an electric sign. My daughter who can read very well says, "Did that just say, Epcot delays?" I said "NO, it said expect delays". She said "oh no mom I think I have a problem." It was so funny :rotfl:.

I love it! :)

I know that feeling well! WHen its just me and my husband, we understand each other perfectly and we both say it's our thing, its where we like to go, why should'nt we...The kids are on board of coarse, they want to go, I haven't even told them because I don't want them blabbing it!! But at some point I have to tell my mom and dad because I need them to watch the Dog! :rotfl: but seriously I just have guilt because my Best freind never vacations, my inlaws never vacation and my parents never vacation..I on the other hand think life is too short to be sitting at home when I could be in Disney!

I wonder if people like that, when nearing the end of their life, ever regret that choice.

I doubt that they wish they had spent more time at work.

I'm with you, life is too short not to vacation.

People who know me just get it. And others I just tell them when you are me then you get to pick where I vacation. Mean but hey!:)

For us, we have small children and there is NO WHERE else on this earth that we coudl ALL get so much out of our vacation. The beach is nice but not place for tots for a whole week. We do go camping but it is not ANY kind of vacation for me. I get to cook in primitive settings and clean constantly.

At Disney I get to enjoy myself and my kids. There is something about that place that makes you really SEE your kids and HEAR your kids. Maybe because you feel like a kid yourself?

It is a place where our family is making TONS of special memories that will last a lifetime!!

I tried to be quiet on the phone yesterday when I called to get a price quote for Star Wars weekends, but my assistant poked her head in and gave me the "again?!?!?" look. My patented response is just a smile and "do you want to hear about what we have planned for this trip?" Usually people walk away. :)

.

And ftr: if anyone asks me "Disney, again??" My response is always, "Yes, I KNOW! Isn't it exciting!" And then they stop talking to me for fear I'll divulge any plans I've started to make :rotfl:

Now this is the best answer I have ever seen!!

I think I will try this one next time :rotfl:

Some get it, Some don't. Why try to explain anything, I just tell it is what it is.

The more that don't keeps the crowds down, and I for one like that aspect.

We get that question all the time... My answer is:

:)I Love Disney, it is my happy place! :)

Where else can you go and just be happy, forget all your worries and leave your troubles at home... I usually have a perma smile while I am there.

I love vacations in general, tropical, beaches... but Disney is it's own kind of vacation.....

:rotfl: Now, when the Oahu DVC opens, then maybe I'll make a trip over. Can't resist a Disney gift shop in the resort!:lmao:

I have 2 variations of responses for this question when it is posed to me depending on who asks me. The first one is "why would you continuously EVERY year go live out in the woods (like an animal) with the bugs and nothing of comfort every weekend of the summer months?"

The second is "why would you go lay in the dirt next to a large body of water that contains fish that can eat you and let the sun fry you until you look like a disgusting hand bag EVERY year?"

One of those responses usually shuts up the "nay sayers!" LOL!

Until next time,
John

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: That is AWESOME.

Try going ever week! Or sometimes twice a week. lol
People think we are bonkers! AND no we are NEVER sick of it.

OMG that is a dream come true. Lucky you!! Warmth, sunshine, and DISNEY!

Disney is our Happy Place. We got married there, it holds many happy memories for us. It never gets old, and I don't think I've seen *all* of it yet. People gripe about the manufactured happiness... I love it. I bask in it! It's the one place in the world that I can really "get away from it all." You get to take a step out of real life for a week. Doesn't get better than that.

Am I the only one getting all teary eyed?

I have such a hard time with the people who just don't get WDW. My DH's grandmother said "I've been once, don't need to go back" and she went I think 20 or more years ago. It just drives me crazy. I guess because I want them to feel what I do when I'm there. But I know I can't change them, so I've gotten over it. And for this trip we are only telling people who think it is cool that we are going back. Most of our family members will find out the day before we leave, when we surprise our DS at his birthday party. He will only being turning 3 so I don't know how the surprise will work, but I'll try it anyway.

And I love what everyone wrote about the beach. It actually sums up our trip to WDW this year. We had the option of doing this with just the 3 of us or a beach trip with the extended family. We chose WDW not just because we love it, but also because of all the other things that especially the moms have said about a beach trip.
