I have to go to the mandatory meeting for parents of INCOMING 9TH GRADERS!!!!
DD#1 will be in HS next year! I TEACH at a high school! I don't want her in one!
WAAAAHHH!
Later this spring will be the meeting for DD#2 to be an incoming jr. high student!
I don't know if I can take this all at once! Thank goodness DS will only be in 3rd grade next year!

I know how you feel. A good friend and I had discussed how hard it was to believe that her daughter was entering middle school. We agreed to just call it 5th grade. ;) Well, last night she was telling me she couldn't believe this same daughter was starting high school. Wait! What happened to 5th grade!!! :rotfl:

Are you in Colleyville, Texas? Tonight is our 8th grader's parents night at HS, too.

My DD13 will be in high school next year, too. ARGH!!!! We'll have to form a support group.

My oldest DD18 is graduating from high school in May, starts college in the fall; my middle DD14 graduates from the 8th grade in May, will be confirmed in March, and we just registered her for high school for the fall; my youngest DD8 makes her first communion in April.....only my dear DS10 won't make me feel too old- he just goes into the 5th grade/upper school in the fall. Planning on being emotional and tearful from March on!

I did kindergarten and driver's ed at the same time; toilet trained and dealt with a girl's first period in the same week......at our superbowl party I had a room full of little girls and their American Girl dolls, a gaggle of 10 year old boys playing Lord of the Flies out in the backyard, a basement full of teenagers, and all their drunken fathers and uncles acting like 2 year olds in the living room-along with my senile MIL who kept asking if this was the Superbowl!!. Talk about cutting across the lifespan- geeze!

Come fall I will have a college student, a high schooler, a middle schooler and a 3rd grader! What was I thinking (or apparently, NOT thinking, which is probably more accurate!!!!)? Good thing I went for the puppy and not another human baby this summer. At least the dog is trainable and doesn't leave his clothes on the bathroom floor!

My dd starts high school next year. It absolutely breaks my heart.. where did my little baby go????

Those kids grow up too darn fast. I'm just not done with her yet. My oldest is 20 and out of school and in the military. My youngest will be in highschool next year. :earseek:

My oldest is starting HS next year too, the parent night was last week and we are working on class selections this week..

My baby is starting MS next year so this is the last year of elementary for us. They do get big so fast.

Add me to the I have a first time high schooler list too. I was talking with my in-laws this weekend and we were talking about all the school switching taking place in our town next year (we opened a new high school and they are converting the old high school to a middle school and moving some of the elementary stuff around) and said that DS was going to be in high school next year. It was the first time it REALLY hit me that he was going to HIGH SCHOOL!

hey....what do you mean? I'm going to one one those meetings for incoming freshmen tomorrow night. I wasnt even thinking about it meaning i was old. Thanks a lot. :sad2:

My son is a Junior, and I cannot believe it, already!
My daughter is in the 6th grade, cannot believe how fast the time flew!
I am sad!

Does anyone out there with older kids still tear up and cry, when your kids are this old and go to school on the first day??
I DO!!!
I know wimp!!!LOL!

7 days until 2 weeks at WDW/FL! :yay:
That's why family vacations are so precious to me!!!! :grouphug:
:moped: :moped: :moped:

My son is already telling me, "mom who are you going to be when I go to college"? I say not too good for awhile!!LOL!
Good thing he'll be going to college in FL outside WDW!!!!
I told him you'll be seeing me---alot!!!LOL!
poor kid :guilty:

My oldest has already graduated from high school. Unfortunately, he attended the same high school I graduated from and had many of the same teachers. They often told him that myself and his father were in their classes years ago, yep, still remember them. Only now the teachers are getting ready to retire and when I attended, they had just started! :rotfl2: :teacher:
