How do you say the word "EGG"?

Is it aig?

Or is it ehg?

I say it's aig, but I remember having this argument with a friend in high school - she was sure it was "ehg".

There is no "a" in egg, therefore egg is pronounced "ehg"

This is a big pet peeve of my DD's, she absolutely cringes when someone pronounces it with the "a" sound.

Actually, I say it as egh or eguh.

Can somebody use those sounds in a word for me, cause they both sound close to the same to me. And I can't figure out which one I use to say egg!
