I know this topic gets brought up a lot, but I can't find what I need to know on it. In simplest form, how soon would I need to book in order to be sure to be able to get a Premium site for November of 2017.

The short version of our dilemma is that we want to take a trip that month, but we won't know the specific timing until my wife's vacation calendar is circulated at work October/November of this year. Will that be a problem for us? Any experienced input would be appreciated.

As far I know, All of 2017 opens up for booking tomorrow June 21st.
at least that is what I believe I read somewhere.

Unless I am mistaken, you can book up to 499 days ahead, it is simply that the online booking tool has not been available past 12/31/16. That is what they are supposedly launching tomorrow (which, considering we are rapidly approaching the 180 days mark for 1/1/17, they need to).

My question is whether or not I can safely wait until November of 2016 to book November of 2017.

Ahhh. that is right. I made my booking for room only for January by phone about 3 months ago. :) Call Disney and book. Make it a package later.

so I wasn't sure about capacity concerns for November.
Well, I can tell you for November, the capacity issues can be an issue if you are booking around Thanksgiving. Also could be an issue if you are booking the first week of November because of course it's right after Halloween (although I would think it would be less likely to be an issue.)

We like to go over the Thanksgiving holiday to maximize our vacation as well as minimize the time the kids are out of school WE can get 9 days (at the campground/parks) in and only use 6 vacation days (with 2 days of travel on either side of the trip). The kids only miss 4.5 days (Day before Thanksgiving is a half day, and here Monday after Thanksgiving is usually off for the First day of Buck season).

Other than those 2 times, though, you should be okay. Even a year out those time frames shouldn't be too bad to obtain.
