Another way to make a little extra cash for our Disney funds

I made the homepage again today! That's twice in 2 weeks.
Still waiting on a bunch to be approved for April and so is my husband. I hate the waiting game!!!!!

Can a husband and wife have separate accounts (ie. both attempt to make 20 acceptable videos for a total of 40 per month)? :teacher:

Yes you can each have your own account BUT you can't review the same products.

I read about people on here doing ExpoTV reviews and gave it a try and all 3 of mine got rejected. I don't understand why! And I gotan email saying click to see your feedback and there is no feedback. Help! What did I do wrong? How do I get my specific feedback so I can fix it?

What people should know if they're going to try this is only attempt one first - don't try to send in more than one on your first try. It will probably be rejected and you only get one more chance. And mine had so many problems which I couldn't believe since I had watched all the tutorials and watched the videos for the same products. All of mine had the problem that audio and video are out of sync. How do I fix that?
I also got poor lighting comments. I was in a room with all the lights on. What else can I do?
I really didn't think it would be SOOOOOO HARD after reading about how all of you were doing this. Why me?? And I got so excited about it I told my husband how it seemed so easy and he warned me there was a catch. Now I know. I'm feeling really stupid. HELP PLEASE! Need to redeem myself in my husband's eyes. HELP! HELP! HELP!

Here are a few ideas to help.
For audio/video sync issues: It can be a few things. One, if you are doing this in windows movie maker or another edit program, make sure you don't accidently move the line for audio or it will not be lined up (synched) with how your mouth moves in the video. Two, when you upload to Expo, try to not do anything else on your computer. Sometimes I've noticed that if I'm surfing or trying to edit another video while uploading, it uploads slow and the synch gets messed up.

For lighting, you can have the whole room lit, but if you don't have the lights in the right place, it won't matter. You need the lights to be on you, not behind you. Otherwise, you look dark while the area behind you looks well lit. I try sitting up against a wall with all the lights in front of me.

Some of the videos you watched for the same products may have been approved before the new tougher restrictions. I recommend checking out some of the Dis'ers that have had approvals recently. I do think you should only upload a video or two until you get the idea of what Expo wants.

In the video settings, I chose High quality small as the capture setting. That obviously didn't work, so what do you recommend?

As for my lighting problem, I tried one where I was against the wall in a room with all the lights on. I also tried in another room where I stood directly under the light.

When did the tougher restrictions go into place? I watched videos from 8/22/07 and 2/5/08 and thought I did exactly what those people did, but obviously I can't get it right.

The new rules went into effect last month. Before that, they paid less and weren't as picky about the quality. Now they pay $10 per, but are much pickier about the videos.

Do you have links to the rejected videos? I can watch and see what your problem might be.

OK, on the audio issue, one thing I've found is for some reason, the videos I edited and uploaded on my laptop had issues. The videos I did using my PC were approved on upload (even on the second time around) I don't know if it is the wireless internet on the laptop, or that the PC is faster, but it worked.

Lightingwise, the best way to do it is in natural light, I like to sit in front of my window about 3 pm when the sun hits it directly. If you have to do it in the evening, try to adjust the white balance on your camera.

Has anyone looked at their earnings page today? It looks different. Like they've removed our April earnings? Does that mean we'll be getting paid soon?

there is a thread in the expo forums explaining the changes, also that payments will be processed this week.
Any non-qualifying videos leftover from April will automatically be published for PPP. (bummer!)

I have not had a review rejected under the new rules/$10 payment until yesterday. I did a review of Iron Man and they said it "just missed the mark" but there was noise at 2:40 seconds. So I listened and could not really hear anything. Maybe my cat hitting a toy for 2 seconds-very minor. They said here is an example of a great video with a link. So I looked and this review has banging all over the place in the background like someone is hanging a picture. LOL-nice example. They are SO inconsistent! I re-did it with ZERO noise- same review-and they STILL rejected it (with no reason.) They are getting to be a joke. I wrote them complaining about the other "great review" as an example and told them normal people will have minor background noise (birds, washing machine, etc..) I can understand a loud TV blasting or a screaming child in the background but come on!

I also reviewed Iron Man and got it turned down. I bet they sent us a link to the same persons review. I'm not sure I'll do many more movie reviews. It's hard to do without giving away the plot.

I just wanted to say thanks to any of you who have been watching my videos. 2 bucks isn't much but it feels like a lot when it is in addition to my videos!! Thanks.

Now if I could just get some videos to pass. :) I took 3 weeks off and put 4 up today and only 1 so far has been accepted.

WilsonFamily4~I agree......THANKS TO EVERYONE who has been watching the videos. Every little penny helps as far as I'm concerned.

I have had one video go through for this month, and I have two others that have been pending for a while and will hopefully go through soon.

I uploaded 2 yesterday and they have already been approved! However, I'm still waiting on 3 from almost 2 weeks ago:confused3
