Another way to make a little extra cash for our Disney funds

I just signed up, I hope I'll be able to do it :) What is everyone using to make their videos??? Hopefully I can start tomorrow:)

Ok, so I've uploaded a dozen or more reviews using my logitech webcam. Every one of them said my video was successfully uploaded. I just went to check the status on my reviews and every one says "video error" but gives no explaination? Any ideas??

There seems to be some codecs that aren't compatible with ExpoTV. I found that my Logitech Quickcam and my Windows Movie Maker both had a compression file, or filter as its listed in Windows Movie Maker, "Indeo Video" that they don't recognize. So I just disabled it. Maybe this will help you?:confused3

I am so glad I saw this post! This very well may be the perfect thing to make a little extra cash around here for our trip next year.

BTW, I watched a couple of you all's videos. The one about the Disney Crocs, and the Victori Secret Flip flops, and a few more that I do't remember off the top of my head.
I haven't joined there yet, but when I do Ill have to post my userID

Maybe that's it. How do I disable the filter? And do I just disable it and then reupload or do I have to do something to the video's I've already recorded before I upload them again?

Hey all! Just subscribing. I'm not too technologically advanced so I don't know if I can handle this yet. Glad everyone is doing so well!

fabulous! i just uploaded my first vid, and i am just SO excited!

out next trip isn't for 7 mos, so that will give me plenty of time to save this video cash!

i recorded using our cannon powershot s2is, watched the vid in windows media player, then uploaded the .avi vid! it says it was recived, so we'll see what happens. i just laugh watching myself.....:happytv:

How do I invite someone to be my friend??

Never mind I got it.

Have added all the fellow dis'er to my friends list as well as DH AKA BAG!!!!!!!

How long does it take for the videos to appear on their website?

We uploaded some on July 1 and they were just published a few days ago, however, we did a review on Harry Potter and it was published within a day or so of uploading. I really think it depends on when you upload. Its my understanding that they run a few weeks behind. Someone else jump in here and tell me if this is wrong.

I have a question on how they pay out though. If we upload videos in July do they not pay out on them until they are approved, even if its not approved until August? Like if we upload now and they get approved August 1 or after do we then get paid in September?

I'm not sure how to disable it in the Logitech software but if you are using Windows Movie Maker, go under "tools, then "options" and then click on the compatibility tab. If there is a filter listed, try turning it off. You may have to save the videos again after you have turned off the filter to get a version of the video without that filter on it. Does this make any sense? Cause its sounds easy in my head but I never know if it sounds easy when I speak it! :rotfl:

Hi, I signed up too. :) I am wondering how Expo TV accounts work with additional family members.

1. Should additional family members have their own Expo TV accounts or do you usually share one account? It seems to make more sense to have individual accounts.
2. If family members have individual accounts, would they also have their own paypal accounts? I know you can have additional email addresses per Paypal account, but wouldn't it make more sense for each family member to have their own account? Right now, I am the only family member with a Paypal account.

Thanks for any help!

I just signed up today too :cool1: From what I read on the site, each household member should sign up. You can have more than one email address ( I think up to 7) for paypal accounts. You really don't need more than one paypal account - just the email addresses so you can keep track of who is paid what.

Good Luck!!! Can't wait to start filming!!

ExpoTV is shown on our cable channel 970, guess thats what happens when you get the extra $25. There are mini shows on demand of different subjects, cleaning, etc that include many different clips from Expotv users. I guess this is how they afford to shell out $5 a video.

I think it's all pretty cool and we plan on uploading some videos this week, our name there is DarleneNJake. Hope to see everyone there. :thumbsup2

Just thought I would throw this in here. If you review a movie currently in theatres it almost goes up right away. Last night my DH did a review and its been approved already today. I still have videos from last week in pending.

I was wondering how they pay out. Like if you upload in July but they dont get approved until say Aug 1 then do you have to wait for the September pay out?

All the videos you upload in July, you will be paid for in August. All the videos you submit in August, you will be paid for in Sept. ETC

All qualifying members of your household have to have their own seperate accounts. You only get paid for 100 videos a month per account, so everyone needs to have their own.

You can link multiple email addresses to one paypal account. My paypal account has 3 address right now. One for ebay, one for my expotv account and one for dh's. All the money goes to the same paypal account, which then goes directly into my bank account. :thumbsup2

My first months earnings bought me a brand new HP laptop.

My second months earnings bought us a 42" flat panel TV. (If someone tells me how to post pictures, I will!)

We postponed our trip up north because we're getting a kitten and didn't want to leave her so soon after we get her, so we went ahead and spent some of the money on 2 things that we've wanted for a looooong time! (I say "my" earnings, but it's really dh's & mine combined = $1000 a month).

The videos I upload this month, I'll be paid for in August, that money is going for our trip to see family as well as the next months earnings. After that, it all goes into our Disneyworld account for the best Disneyworld trip ever! :yay:

Jennifer

P.S. I am SOOOOO glad that I could help out by introducing you guys to expotv. I know a lot of people thought I was just trying to profit somehow, but I really was just trying to help others. I love reading this thread and seeing how excited you guys are! :grouphug:

Thanks Jennifer that clears it up for me. We have a lot of videos in pending right now and I figured since they were still in pending we wouldnt actually get paid until they got approved. I really would like a nice fat payment in August to help with school uniforms and books, so I will keep plugging away. My only problem is I have a Samsung digital camera and it eats double A batteries. The power cord is a purchase seperately thing and I guess I have to call them and see where I can get one. Anyone have any recommendations for cheap digital camera that does videos?

Melissa- My digital camera has been going through batteries like crazy too! My new laptop has a webcam and I'm going to use that. No more batteries and no more uploading from camera to computer, so you may want to look into getting a webcam (you can use your August earnings!) ;)

Oh and your videos shouldn't take more than 2-3 weeks to be approved. In May, I submitted most of my videos on the 31st and they were approved around the 15th of June and I was paid around the 25th of June. My June videos were submitted around the 15th of the month, were approved around July 1st and I was paid around the 10th of July. HTH!

Jennifer
