Another way to make a little extra cash for our Disney funds

Did anyone else get the email asking them to do a video on a meal under $10? It had a short deadline, but I managed to get one done and it was accepted. I'm hoping Expo offers this or something similar as a new special category.

Just bumping to see how everyone did for June. :)
We managed to get 17 approved...:thumbsup2
Quick question for the expo-experts...we submitted some revisions today for some of the ones that got denied in June.Thought they would count for July but they were immediately approved and it looks like they will count for June as well..:goodvibes We still have a couple more that were denied in June that we are hoping to resubmit. Can anyone tell me how long we have to resubmit them before they automatically upload ? Is it a certain amount of time into the next month or based on the initial submit/rejection date?
TIA!

Last month we had until the 8th I think to redo videos. After that no more. I am not sure what the day is this month but probably something similar.

I actually got all 20 done plus the 5 bonus ones! SO very happy.

I did all 20 in June and the 5 questions and they were all approved:cool1: dsnycrzyA:goodvibes is on a roll. I also have 17 uploaded already between yesterday and today for July:thumbsup2 .

I got the 5 bonus, 9 reviews, and the one about a meal for under $10. So a total of 15 videos at $10 each. I've already sent one in for today. I have a few more I'm working on.

Yes I got that email too and did one!

Allyson :)

I just looked them up and you and I seem to be the only ones who did them. :confused3

I saw a few others. Zoesmommy had a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, someone else had a Ham Soup or Stew and Pumpkinpie had a Chicken Soup. There were not many though. I wonder how many people they sent it to?

I did my 5 questions, plus 20 videos, but one was the the wrong file, (and reviewed too late to upload the correct file) and two that need to be redone.
But to make up for the one that was the wrong file, I did a stroller review from the list.
I can't wait, because my Disney trip balance is due on the 21st! Then I'll have 2 months worth of Expo pay for my spending money! :cool1:

I got this from the forum over there. Thought I would let everyone see it before making new videos!

Hi everyone,

Starting today you'll see some changes to the upload process. We're asking members to input more descriptive information about the product - which will help viewers find your videos more easily.

Here's what we're now asking on the second page of the upload process:
Select a product rating from 1 to 5 starts *required*
Input a model number for reviews of any product in these three categories: electronics, computers, and appliances
Describe the product in one sentence. *required*
Write in your overall opinion of the product. *required*
List up to three pros about the product
List up to three cons about the product
Please post any related questions in this thread. Thanks, and happy uploading!

WOW! I have 2 up for this month and cannot imagine having 17! GREAT JOB!

Oh thank you. It was quite easier then I thought it would be. I grabbed a note pad and went threw the house looking for things to reveiw. I got to 20 and then 40, plus about 4 extra. So i just started doing the reviews and have them in my computer and ready to go on the first. Now I can start on August since I'm off on the 4th of July:goodvibes. I just uploaded my last one....20 on by July 3rd? I'm going to be bored all month now:confused3

I used to always be done with them the first week and LOVED it! Now I can never find anything to reveiw anymore!

I know I shouldn't be so lazy and just thumb through the thread (wow, alliteration!) and look for the answer, but, um, it's 203 pages. Or I should hop on over to the ExpoTV site and poke around, but I already have a perfectly expansive database of knowledge here on the DIS!! Flattery works, right?

Sooo...

I am brand-spankin' new to the whole Expo game. Do each of the views that qualify for the PPP function have to come from unique IP addresses? Otherwise, what's to stop someone from watching their own video over and over. I had to watch someone's review twice because my phone rang, and it got me thinking about whether or not they got credit for my second viewing.

From Expo rules:
Pay-Per-Play Program: If a video is published on ExpoTV's website (www.ExpoTV.com) (the "Site"), the member who submitted the video ("Submitter") will receive one-cent ($0.01) each time one of his or her videos is played in its entirety by someone other than the Submitter or someone affiliated with the Submitter (a "video play"). This pay-per-play payment of one-cent is applicable for all acceptable product categories.

I know I have read before it is tied to IP addresses, so you can't watch a friends video over and over and rack up the pennies. Plus, I know somewhere I read that you can only watch a limited amount of videos a day for the PPP. But I couldn't find more on that in the forums.

I am back to Expo-ing after a long hiatus and have a question for those of you who are currently still uploading videos to them. How do we know what our videos are worth? Where do I find the amount they are going to be paying me for my videos?

i stopped uploading to Expo back in the fall after they rejected a lo t of my videos but I had an old webcam I was using so I wasn't sure if they would accept any new videos from a new webcam (much higher quality than the old one) so I was pleasantly surprised when they did accept them. now I just need to work on some more.

All videos that are accepted for upfront payment are at $10. If a category starts to get full, Expo will announce that area is getting "bloated" and payments to that category are at risk of going down. You have a maximum of 20 videos a month you can upload for upfront payment. Though last month Expo offered some extra videos at $10 each that did not count towards the limit. Hope this helps!

(and I can't believe you'd want to leave St. Pete for Alabama.) ;)

Thanks Mean Queen! Do you know if the economy videos count towards the 20?

BTW, pretty much all of our family is in AL so thats why we are heading back! :thumbsup2 Although, when we first moved here I didn't like St. Pete as much as I do now! (Of course it didn't help that we were moving from the Keys to here!)

The economy videos from last month did not count toward the limit. But I didn't think Expo had put up new questions for July. I know in the forum over there Expo said they would be putting up new questions eventually.

I understand the need to be near family. Though that's exactly what makes me want to move from St. Pete sometimes. ;)

So, I uploaded my first video to Expo today, and it was accepted for upfront payment a few hours later. :yay:

OK, do you guys just email the video link to everyone in your contacts list to earn those pennies?

Glad I found this thread!! Thanks, guys!
