Do you have to wear water shoes at the parks or are bare feet allowed? Personally, I will have my water shoes one - I hate bare feet - but DH doesn't own any water shoes so we'd have to get him some.

Thanks.

Bare feet are allowed and necessary on some of the slides. They make you take water shoes or flip flops off and cross them over your chest. But in terms of walking around the park, I wouldn't suggest bare feet--the bathroom floors are gross and I seem to remember that walking to the higher slides at Blizzard Beach in uncomfortable in bare feet because the steps and pavement are rough.

The last time we were at TL and BB, water shoes (aka water socks) were allowed on all the slides. Very necessary, IMO, since my tender feet can't handle walking on the sand strips they lay down to prevent people from slipping and falling.

Have a magical trip!

We didn't wear any shoes except when we were entering and leaving the park and going to the bathroom. We didn't have any problems. My DD 7yo was fine too. We went to BB for 2 days.

They aren't required - but well worth it IMO. My DD's feet were very sore at the end our day because she didn't want "tan" lines! They made me take mine off for the Slush Gusher slide but other then that I wore them on everything (didn't do Summitt Plummet but they probably make you take them off for it too) You just hold them in your hands and cross them over your chest. The pavement is very rough - to prevent slipping I'm sure - and can get hot as well.

BTW - Mine were the rubber sandals with velcro straps - cheapies from Wal-mart! If they had been "official" water shoes they might have let me keep them on - I don't know!

I don't do water shoes at the water parks-- but I'll sheepishly admit-- I pay for it!! The bottoms of my feet are so raw and sore by the end of the day-- ugh!! I bring flip-flops and I wear them if I'm going into the bathrooms or on a mug refill run. Other than that I leave them by my chair.

It has been 4 years since our last trip to WDW...I forgot about water shoes for BB/TL...Thank you for reminding me!
I added this to my "Random Disney Note File"
Thanks again...
