Another waiting for Southwest thread!

The SW wait is nothing new. SW has always posted their schedules about 5 months out from the flights. I have been taking SW for years and I know if I want to schedule a flight, I know I can't do so until about 5 months before the trip. I am a planner, don't get me wrong, but I appreciate the close proximity to my home and SW basically has decent fares, so I will always deal with the wait.

You are right that "the wait" is nothing new but now instead of 5 months out we are now at about 3.5 months if someone is waiting for a flight at the beginning of August. I think it's the not knowing that gets people frustrated. I like flying SW too and they fly to Manchester, NH which for me is a lot better than having to deal with the Boston airport but if I had a trip planned for August and got a deal on another airline like the PP said about Jet Blue I would seriously consider it.

I was under the impression that sw released their dates 6 mo out. Now it is being cut back drastically. I too am waiting for sw. The waiting is a killer when you are trying to finalize your plans. So I guess I'll just have to sit here a few more days til they decide we have had enough torture.

I have been watching airfrare go up these past two months. I've watched gas skyrocket these last few weeks.

Our trip isn't until November and they don't release Nov schedule until July/August. I just couldn't wait and find out their prices are even higher because of fuel. Since we're going Jersey week, I have to schedule hotel way in advance, too.

So yesterday I booked 3 tix on US Air PHL to MCO $ 699. More than I paid last year, but we are booked!

I've never been able to hold out for SW, I like to plan early.

Good luck to those still waiting.

hey, have fun Jersey week. Had to jump on airfare the day southwest released for that week and they sold out very quick. our entire plan was NJ people. Great week to go, got more croweded as week went on and hard to get dinner ressies if they were not booked in advance. have fun

I was always afraid if I didn't book SWA the day it came out for Jersey Week, I'd miss any good fares. With my luck, it would be a day I wouldn't get on the DIS first thing in the AM.

I just checked US Air, our flight that I bought yesterday has gone up from $699 to $771 in one day. I'm happy now.

Still waiting for Sept and Dec. I hope we get Sept fares this week. I won't jump ship as a have lots of $ credits to use.

I'm so glad that I book an AirTran/USAir combo ticket. I got $79/$99 One Way each and SWA is cheapest fares for my dates are no lower than $107. Good luck to everyone else!

OK...I booked flights at more then I wanted to spend but I'll hope for a good sale like I've gotten every other time I've flown SW....

Good Luck to everyone else.

I booked at higher than I hoped too, but had no other choice for the times I wanted and non-stop. Everything else was way out of sight! Here's hoping for some Dings between now and then!

Hey, zurgswife, we're from Blue Bell!

Got my flights too. Yes, I paid more than I wanted, but about the same that I would have paid for another flight. Now the waiting begins for Dings!. Probably sometime in June.

Same Here, lets hope for a good ding

I can't believe they did this. I can't believe they only opened it til the 12th. They way things look now I'm not going to beable to book my flight down to wdw 9/30 until July. and they have to watch in august for my return flight 10/15. I am so disappointed right now.

Dang it (or should I said "Ding it!"?) I need through the 24th...

Ok. I'm finally booked. Now my trip is all set! As soon as I tell ME my flight times! :cool1:

Ok...I needed 9/30 and 10/7. I'm so disappointed and ticked about SW...this is ridiculous how long they are waiting. I think they are about to lose another customer.

Do they not realize that waiting so long is hurting them????
