I'm pretty well-versed in wait-listing reservations, but I searched and didn't see this specific scenario discussed and wasn't sure how it's handled...
I have three nights booked in December at the Poly. I have a reservation the night before that stay at my home resort. I created a wait list request for the first night that's set up to replace the home resort reservation if it matches.
Here's the question: if I modify that 1-night home resort reservation to a different resort, will my wait list automatically update and still replace the modified reservation?
I would assume yes since the reservation number doesn't change, but we are talking Disney IT here, so my concern was that if it was looking for the original reservation at the home resort and found a reservation at a different resort instead, it wouldn't replace it.
Also, the wait-listed reservation will require borrowing points. When replacing the existing reservation, they would be using the already booked points and only need to borrow a few, but if they don't replace that reservation, they would need to borrow the full number of points for the wait-listed reservation (I obviously don't want to borrow more than needed).
