Hello to Everyone,
I am home for a few minutes to gather clothing as we have been staying at my parent's home this past week. I logged on yesterday and printed all of your well wishes and took them to the hospital yesterday. My mom will read them to my father. He is sedated, but the nurses say that he can hear us talk.
Thank you so much for all of your concern. I really have been in shock this past week.
I took my father to the doctor for what he thought was the flu and it turned out that a chest x-ray showed double pneumonia. They admitted him to the hospital and as Tuesday progressed, his condition rapidly deteriorated....I could not believe it really. Well he went into sepsis shock and was diagnosed with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome as well as congestive heart failure. By 11 PM on Tuesday night he was on a respirator. Most of his major organs began to shut down.
Over the weekend he had dialysis...and this has helped. Once the fluid started coming off some things have improved. They had planned dialysis this morning and it was not needed. The physicians are telling us that we are considering the improvements as "baby steps" as he is still so ill. His condition is critical still. But any positives are much welcomed by our family.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone so much for the support. At a later time, when I am able to focus a little better I will thank each one of you personally.
Love,
Teri
