My MIL wouldn't flush TP (if poo yes) at her house in the country.. they burned it. EWWWWWWWW!!!

Funny though... we all live in the city now, but after she visits I have to empty my bathroom trash. :crazy2:

My brother works for the City. Since it's a small city, he wears many hats. One of the things he has to do is clean the trap at the sewer plant. Feminine products and toddler underwear are the two things that clog up the trap on a regular basis. Mainly on holidays, so he gets called in from his family time.:rotfl:
:rotfl2:

He should be featured on Dirty Jobs :thumbsup2
Some of the things that guy does.. OMIGOSH no way could I even think of doing that type of work. I applaud anyone that does the stinky yucky messy work and hope they get paid well for it!

I'm guessing she knows the cost to replace her drainfield...about $10-$20,000. Yes, we have lots of things we don't flush. I buy the cheaper toilet paper so it will decompose quickly and not cause clogs. I also can't dump anything greasy down the kitchen sink.

Somehow I can't imagine that my brother gets very close to any of the icky stuff. But still, even seeing it must be a bit gross.

We don't have very good insurance at my work, $6,000 family deductible. Still it's better than nothing.

OUCH!
Hubby's is $2,000 per person, plus it is a tiered system of co-pays based on what clinic/hospital you receive care. Of course all of hubby's clinic/docs are on the 2nd tier simply becuase of "specalized care".. rip off!

My sister's insurance cost stayed the same.. but they jacked up the deductible from $500 to $3000 per person with a family cap of .. umm can't remeber but it was HIGH. Allowed only one preventative visit per year.:sad2:

umm, actually she had an illegal septic.. allowing "brown water waste" to simply drain. She had wetlands in her backyard thus would require a holding tank system with no drain field allowed. She got cited for it, her ex husband turned it in to the county... uhhh but he was the one to set it up that way.. jerk!

(I understand it's pricey.. but I also feel laws are there to protect you and others.. and wildlife. )

That's basically what happened with our company insurance. If we wanted to keep the same price this year we had to accept higher deductible. They jacked up the price of a $1,000 deductible to about $1,500 per family, per month. Unfortunately most of our WA employees are in the Port Angeles, WA area, which is outside of a major metropolitan area. So we are limited to only 2 medical insurance plans in the state that will offer coverage in that area. So we are stuck paying a really high price for really crappy insurance.

The only good part of the insurance is the first 6 office visits per year are not subject to the deductible, so you only pay 20%. But any xrays, labs, etc must go towards teh deductible.

Wow, what a jerk! We get our pumped out every few years, makes it last longer that way since it gets rid of the scum and grease on the top. It's about time to get our pumped again. Boy, I bet my drainfield will breathe a sigh of relief when DD goes to college.:rotfl2:

Hubby and I were discussing his summer outlook.. he basically isn't get a break :laughing:

Off a few days then 2 week training for summer school work. Work all of July for summer school, back to work August 24... ahh but wait.. all science teachers have an extra week of training the week before call back..

uhh that leaves you what? like one week beginning of August- hottest humid month of the year when the mosquitos are terrible and the pollen count is really high?

uhh.. yeah.

Tell him welcome to the wonderful world of Employment!

I am very intrigued by this. I'm thinking I might retire in about 10 years and try stealth camping. I have no idea why this appeals to me, but it does.

I've read of people house sitting/pet sitting as thier source fo housing. Evenutally they establish a good refrence base and can move fomr job to job with no problems of not haivng a place to live. I think it would be fun! Not something we can do currently with the dialysis stuff.. I can imagine hauling all of the supplies from place to place? UGH! Too much!

My great aunt was a "snow bird", whe her husband was alive they would pack up a cmaper and visit all the family in MN. Going back to their manufactured home (trailer park) near San Diego in the winter. Would love to do something like that!

guess i've just been hit with the travel bug or something. I just have this overwhelming desire to throw out everything that I own, except 1 suitcase and travel the world.

When my boss builds up some more airmiles (I spent all of them going to FL). Also, kind of waiting for DH to get back to work. This month I had a 1,900 MRI bill and a 1,500 property tax bill. Not to mention the huge credit card bill I managed to run up during vacation (but it was so worth it)! So in other words, maybe this fall.
