I am almost all done with my shopping!!:cool1: I just need to get Alex 2 games for his PSP, and hubby can handle that... and get them used and whatnot. Plus a couple of books.

We FINALLY decided on the girls big present. We have been wracking our brains, trying to figure something that she will actually use, love, and will hopefully be SO COOL that she wont bug her brother while he is playing on his new PSP. I dont know thy we didnt think of it before. A portable DVD player.. Now.. I know it seems odd for a three year old, but you dont know MY three year old. She loves movies and cartoons, this way she can watch in the car, or whatever.

We were looking at the Fisher price kid tough one.. But the screen was tiny! Like 2 or 3 inches. I swear it was the size of a credit card. Plus.. it was $150. So we went to the Tv section and found a Disney one for $78. :cool1: it has a little Tink design on it. Very cute.

Then I ordered the kids some jammies, and each a pair of shoes from Target.com. Free shipping, plus I get the credits on Sunshine. Had I thought about that earlier, I would have gotten the DVD player that way to. :lmao:

Anyhoo.. A few books, and some toys, and I am DONE with the kids. Hubby? Not so much. I have ONE THING for him right now. The Bourne movies. I am at a loss. I know at least one game he wants.. But other then that?? Not a clue. Oh. and the memory card he wants.. Oh.. and a case for his PSP. So thats what?? 4 things? Oh boy.

I have been reading about how popular Vera Bradley stuff is.. Am I the only one who thinks that stuff looks like butt ugly, old lady stuff?? Probably, huh?

good afternoon, hyenas!
it is sunny here today, but a little on the cool side at 52f.

i went to target this morning to look for a new crockpot; the fred meyer ad had a rival one on sale, but it got terrible reviews. turns out there was one for sale in the target ad, too, and i think it was one that got really good reviews. i found one and bought the hamilton beach one, and would verify the good review once i got home. it retails for $60, target typically sells it for $50, but they had it for sale for $40, i think it was. i also bought a few christmas cds (sort of an obsession of mine, i have many of them), some nick & nora pjs for the boys, and a few other items.

i stopped by the kits camera store to order prints off my camera card (i took photos at last weekend's birthday party and wanted to print a set for the birthday girl's mom), plus printed a few photos from halloween at ds4's preschool class. :goodvibes

the photo printing takes about an hour, so i wandered to a couple other stores while i waited. i found a few rebus type books for ds4 for christmas, and a cute t-shirt at osh kosh; it's a red long-sleeve, and has two cookies printed on the front and reads: "I ATE SANTA'S COOKIES!" (Guess who that's for...) :rotfl:

Hello Hyenas,

We had a Thanksgiving potluck at work today. The food was good and everyone devoured the banana eggrolls I brought. A family friend made them and they were delicious. :) I only had 3 pcs left out of 40. :rotfl:

Oh and I watched in shock as a 17 lb turkey was devoured in less than 30 minutes. All that was left were the bones and they were picked clean. :faint: I'm glad everyone enjoyed themselves and it was fun chatting with co-workers. :)

omg, i just checked the forecast for our dl trip, and it's showing (at least for now) sun and mid-70s! :woohoo:

perhaps a mite too cool for swimming in the pool, but i won't hold my breath on that. the boys ALWAYS want to hit the pool... Guess it will just have to be mid-day, as i'm sure the evenings will be far too cold. :sad2:

hiya, pixster! sounds like a fun potluck. :thumbsup2

we used to have a lot of potlucks when i worked at a loan processing center years ago. there was one woman who used to make (philippino) lumpia, and they were to die for good! she'd make a huge 9x13 pan of them, and you had to grab one quick if you wanted one, they went fast!

When do you leave??
WHOA, where did you come from??? :lmao:

we leave on the 5th. i can't wait!!! :yay:

is it sad that i'm plotting a return trip in the spring already? i'm trying to figure out when/how much/whether it will permanently scar ds8 if i only take his brother, or if i go during spring break with both of them by myself...

:cool1:

i can't wait to see small world! I love it anyway, and we missed it on our last trip in april. i've always wanted to see it with the holiday overlay, too. :lovestruc

:thumbsup2 I liked the Christmas thingy.. Mikalah is a HUGE fan of the singing babies, and we cant wait to see it all fixed up.

today (with both boys home this afternoon) has actually been very pleasant. i had another of those killer headaches; it started out small this morning, i think because i didn't get my daily dose of caffeine. :rotfl:

after i dropped the boys off i went straight to target without getting coffee first. when the headache started, i finished up at target, then went to starbucks, thinking it would cut off the headache, but it didn't. then did the other shopping and it just kept getting worse, so by the time i picked up the kids, it was pretty bad.

once we got home i made lunch for ds8, took some pills, and then crawled into bed. i remembered dh had a couple of service people coming out, so jumped out when i heard them pull up. chatted with them a bit at the door ~ mentioned i wasn't feeling well ~ and they were sooo cool! they did their thing in the garage and on the roof, didn't come to the door again, and even closed the garage door before leaving, i couldn't believe it! (i had already hopped out of bed again assuming they would come to the door to talk.)

Geesh. I feel like dog crap today. I only made it halfway through the grocery store before I had to quit. I cried all the way home, because I am only 22 weeks, and I cant even take care of my family. :sad2: I just love being totally incompetent.

 Im sorry you had a head ache. That blows. How nice of them to take care of all that without bothering you.

awww, i'm sorry it's such a tough pg. i cannot imagine two of the little boogers in there at once. i assure you i was quite the tank with only one, and it wasn't pretty by the end! :rotfl2:

i know, i couldn't believe it! and shutting the garage door to boot! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

they're coming back in jan. or feb. to install, and i was very impressed; i want to have some coffee and cookies or something for them, i thought they were really sweet. :goodvibes

I think I wouldnt be having such a hard time with it if I was anywhere near the end, you know? But Im not. THATS what is killing me.

Frelan is so scared when we go out, because I am having BHs all the time.. He doesnt even want me leaving the house any more.. He is afraid im going to end up in the hospital.

i lay down for about 40 minutes; i didn't even sleep, just lay there listening for them to come to the door, you know? when they first came to the door i was ready to hurl, because the headache was so bad and ds4 had just pooped his pants, horrible timing! :lmao:

so i probably looked a little green, and went to lay down. i can't believe that i feel pretty good now, just a slight headache. i felt good enough to eat something finally, that's unusual. usually the headache stays the rest of the day. maybe usually i'm too stupid to try laying down? :confused3

hey, get those in-store scooters! My mom is using them now, and just loves it! she's basically been house-bound for years, too stubborn to use the wheelchairs or scooters until recently. she'd go and suffer through walking, only getting what she absolutely needed and then suffering the pain the remainder of the day. then she tried the scooter and loved it! she called me from the store one time and said, 'hey, i can go all the way to the back of the store now, can i get anything for you?' :rotfl2:
