Day 5, Sept 23, Monday
I am awake at 5:30 am. What is my problem anyway???
Watching the weather we learn that Florida is surrounded by three tropical storms...Isadore, Kyle, and Lilly. Great. I take comfort in learning that Orlando is an evacuation destination.
Not satisfied with my torture from yesterday, we return to MGM at 9:00 am. No lines again, and there are characters everywhere! I have been going to WDW for years and I have never seen as many characters in the parks as I have seen this trip.
We did Muppets, Indy, Mermaid, Hunchback, and the Backlot Tour before lunch.
We headed over to Epcot for a late lunch at Biergarten. We have been there before and really enjoy it. There was an oompah band playing. The food is great and I love the strudel with vanilla cream for dessert. Our table companions were 2 couples from Texas and another couple from Vermont (it's a small, small world). The buffet was $13.99 per person - we forgot to get our AP discount though.
After lunch we toured some of the countries, the Land, JIYI, and Ellen's Energy. We stopped at the AP lounge in the Land after having to ask where the heck it was - secret elevator!.....Another amazing bit of Disboard knowledge that DH couldn't get over....
Saw the WTC flag in the American Adventure and got some great pics.
Then - rain, rain, rain. TOD was cancelled for 8:10, but Illuminations went on. We had seen it before, but never had good viewing seats. Because of the rain, many people left the park so we had front and center viewing near Italy. It was spectacular and moving. I loved it.
We headed back to the Dolphin and were asleep by 11:00.
