We're now thinking of February 12th - 19th. Presidents day is the 16th - will this make for a busy week? Washington's birthday is the 22nd. You'll have to excuse my vaugeness where the US holidays are concerned!!

Thanks again princess:

Alyson,

The public schools here in North Florida are out for one day, the 16th for Presidents' Day so even though the new dates are in Peak Season other than the 16th you should be much better off crowd wise than later into the Spring Break times.princess:

Sorry post on the wrong question should have posted on your other thread:

President's Week?
Coming from outside of the US when is President's Week? Does it begin on the 9th or does it begin on the 16th? We're now thinking that we'll fly in to Orlando on the 16th (we arrive late) and stay through the remainder of that week. Any ideas how the crowds will be from the 17th through the 22nd?

You would be much better arriving on the !6th as the week-end of February 13-16 may be more crowded.

While it is true that many schools only have the Monday off, there are also many schools that have the entire week off - i.e., the week that includes the Monday Holiday. For 2004 that would be the week of 2/15/2004. (2/16/2004 is the Monday holiday. Washington's birthday (2/22) is not a national holiday, and there is no reason to avoid it in 2004). Therefore, President's week (2/14 - 2/21) will be busier than either the week before or the week after. If your dates are flexible, my advice is to choose either the week before or the week after.

That said, going President's week is not all that bad if you plan ahead. We've been several times during that period. Stay away from the MK on the weekend days (Saturday and Sunday before the Monday Holiday) as well as on the Monday itself). If you do that, you should be just fine. A friend of my SIL recently described the MK on President's Day as "stroller gridlock". They had to leave and were disappointed at the several "wasted hours". We were at WDW the exact same times, but wisely visited another park on President's Day.

Enjoy your trip!

Presidents' Week, which for crowds is basically the Friday before Presidents' Day to the Friday after, is a very crowded week. Not anywhere near as crowded as Christmas Week, the two surrounding Easter, and July 4 week, but usually the fifth most crowded week of the year. It is doable but plan for hitting parks early, using fast pass for popular rides, and make your evening dinner reservations in advance.
