I bought the 2day/3dayfree tickets for $99/ get childs ticket free. I had them mailed to my house and they do not say adult or child on them. My grandson will be turning 10 just before we get to Universal.Do I need to upgrade his ticket or will they not be able to tell the difference between the adult and child tickets?

You can't upgrade the child ticket. as free tickets can't be upgraded. Your choice is to buy another ticket for him or hope you don't get ask his age.

Yes, they can tell at the gate which is the child ticket and which is the adult. It scans as child or adult even though it isn't printed on your ticket.

I am thinking of purchasing the 2 day/get 3 free with the free child option as well. I noticed that it doesn't clearly state whether the free child ticket is a multi day ticket as well - is that the case? Thanks!

Also can you tell me if they sent you any information on the kids eat free deal. I thought it was all one deal (kids eat, stay and play for free) but I can not seem to get more information on the deal.

Thanks!

We were there 2 weeks ago and picked up our tickets at the kiosk. None of them had anything to indicate which were adults and which were childrens. We had 6 tickets(bought 3, got 3 free) and used them for 4 adults and 2 kids with no problems at all. The first 2 days, we weren't asked to sign them. The 3rd day, we were told we needed to sign them. But on none of these occasions did anyone say anything about any of the tickets being for children.

Just an FYI since previously, I had heard from some posters that all the tickets printed at the kiosks would now specify adult or child.

Actually, I have seen the kiosk tickets multiple times in the last few weeks and they have all had child and adult written on them. I don't know why yours didn't. Maybe you ordered yours before the change and so you got the type of tickets that weren't yet designated for either child or adult. I know the recent orders do have that on them.

It's been extremely busy the last couple of weeks so I suspect the attendents at the gate just didn't notice. There have been several extra people brought in to help with the gates that normally don't work there to help with the higher crowd levels.

The kids eat free is a different program than the "all you can eat meal deal." It has some of the same counter service in the parks but also includes some hotel restaurants.

We did order ours prior to the change. So that's probably why they weren't designated as adult or child.

Aha! That makes sense.

As early as January there was no adult and child ticket, they were all the same even when scanned. Then in February, they didn't say adult or child on the ticket but that information was in the ticket when it was scanned. Then the last couple of weeks, the tickets began actually printing them as child and adult.

Thanks Phamton, can you tell me where I can find more information on this deal?

I honestly don't know much about the hotel packages. I know about the meal deal for anyone but not the hotel packages.

Call: 1-877-801-9720 Ask them about what restaurants are included in the Kids Stay, Play and Eat free package.

I read on another board that Universal will accept these for any age after they contacted them about it.

Actually that is not correct. Before they made the change to adult and child tickets, they were all accepted no matter the age. But that has changed with the newer tickets which have an adult and child designation on the ticket.

Here is the official announcement:
Universal Orlando knows everyone is a kid at heart, but your child must be between the ages of 3 and 9 years old to take advantage of this offer. In addition, if your child is more then 52 inches tall, you will need valid proof of age, such as a copy of their birth certificate.

I reread it. The poster on the other board had tickets that didn't have "child or adult" on it. I have read more and see they have corrected the problem.
