another ticket price increase? really?

Really? Come on peeps, prices go up on everything, Disney is a business not a non profit organization. Bread goes up, milk goes up, gas goes up, clothing goes up. Most of those are necessities. Vacations (Disney) are for pleasure. So you save up & pay the price or choose a lesser venue.

Thank you!

Prices on everything continue to go up, and up. And up...except for my house, anyway!

It's all about supply and demand and the value of the US dollar.

Agree 100%.

Stand alone ticket prices have increased but apparently the tickets included in packages did not. I provided a price quote last week and ran the same package again today and it was the same. I called to make sure I wasn't missing anything and was told that the package prices did not increase.

For a reference point, a lift ticket at the ski hill just 20 minutes from where I live (Steamboat Springs), costs $124. Just to get up the mountain. To me that makes a $99 ticket to the MK seem like a deal.

Just my $0.02

A lift ticket at the ski hill an hour from my house costs $40 (DS was there yesterday).

The way people go crazy over Disney increases you'd think no other park raises their prices! A Universal 2 park/2 day ticket has increased 58% from what I paid nine years ago.

It's more than 58% better than it was nine years ago!

Can you only ride it three times? :)

Love my Disney stock. Bought my first shares way back when and now have over 1000 shares.. CHA-CHING

Just last night I came across and article from 1973 which said the price of a Disney share had dropped from its recent high of $125 a share. I wonder how many times a single share from '73 has split, and while that was a lot of money then, how much it would be worth now.

Price increases happen but overall quality of show is declining... Maintenance stinks, animatronics don't work, audio is bad.

This seems like a money grab to make up for the overruns for MM+ as well as to further increase profits (which, as a stockholder, I like)...

TDO needs a serious infusion of pixie dust. UOR is going to clean their clock down the road if the trend keeps up...

Considering the UK theme parks cost in the region of £40-£50 (70-80 dollars) for a 1 day ticket, Disney parks are a bargain! Better rides, better customer service, better atmosphere and stuff to do that isn't rides or fair games and better facilities. (Disney restrooms are usually very clean, can't say the same for a lot of UK theme parks I've visited..) You also do get a fastpass system and at least three rides a day guaranteed. No, no flaming me. I don't care how many times you used to ride stuff and feel Disney are taking stuff away.

03/05/1986 4-for-1
05/15/1992 4-for-1
07/09/1998 3-for-1

One share in 1973 would be 48 shares today. At Friday's closing price of $80, those 48 shares would be worth $3,840.

I'm surprised we did not receive an email from Mousesavers. Usually they know ahead of time and warn their subscribers about upcoming increases.

Sparkly, this is an honest question. When was the last time you visited Disney World?

I believe the owner of Mousesavers recently retired. Her SIL has taken over.

Thanks. Did not know this. Do you think this means not getting these important pieces of information or do you think her SIL needs time to settle in?

:thumbsup2 I don't mind paying for things that work properly but right now, that is not the case with Disney.

“Our pricing reflects the high quality and breadth of experiences we offer and our ongoing commitment to investing in our parks,” Disney spokesman Bryan Malenius said Saturday.

What it reflects is demand. We keep talking about how there's really not a slow time of year anymore. People keep saying to the FP+ detractors that they should just shut up and take it because nothing's going to change and others are right behind them to take their spot in line. Well, this is the end product of that. People will pay it, so they charge it.

I'm not sure. :) I think she retired at the beginning of the year, but her sister in law has been helping for quite a while, so should be familiar with how things work.

Not sure why there was no notification sent out.
