Another tacky invitation

A: Its tacky, doesnt she have any friends who would throw this thing for her.

B: Its supposed to be fun/ funny stuff for a gift. Who registers for a bachlorette party?

C: If you cannot make it you are not required to purchase a gift.

agree! Very Tacky!!!

Tacky. Tacky to throw yourself a bachelorette party. Tacky to request gifts. Really tacky to put your bra & panty size on the invitation.

A co-worker once had a similar "Give Me Even More Presents Bachelorette Party". It was thrown by her future sister-in-law, who included the fact that her brother really likes co-worker in black lace lingerie. YUCK. I chose not to attend.

I've heard of giving gifts at bridal showers, but not bachelorette parties. I vote tacky, all around!

I think the whole thing was in poor taste. Never heard of throwing your own bachelorette party, requesting gifts at a bachelorette party or specifying gifts in an invite like that. I would only be sending my regrets at not being able to attend and nothing more.

I'm not a huge fan of bachelor/bachelorette parties to begin with (but we won't go there...)

But, THIS? Tacky. Ick.

I really want to know since when has the wedding become all about showers? :confused3 I refused to have one for my wedding. Isn't the wedding present enough?

Post the list, then I'll judge if it's tacky...:thumbsup2

First I want to say, your daughter is beautiful

Here's a list of the items:

"Just Married Bling Tank" "Sexy Little Things" #211-819-874
Lace Trim Satin Slip #204-495
Fly Away Baby Doll #152-392
Lace or Satin Slip #156-793 Bl or Red
Peek a Boo Lace Camisole #222
Silk Nightie #152-162
Any G-string panties

I'm wondering if she sent my mother-in-law (her future MIL) an invite :rotfl:

I still can't believe she put her bra size in the invite. She's very busty, so maybe she's just very proud of it.

Oh well, she's a nice person, from what I have seen. Not exactly up on etiquette, but nice none the less. (and she's in her mid 30's for those that may think she is just too young to know)

Thank you very much. She's a great girl!

and by the way,

nothing says fun at a bachelorette like g strings and peek a boos.

Ok, so who thinks this is tacky.

I received an invitation to a Bachelorette party today for my future sister in law (I don't know her that well, and am not particularly close to my brother in law). The bride herself is throwing it. She sent out the invitation. Along with the invitation is a sheet of paper that says Bachelorette Party Lingerie Suggestions. It goes on to give the bride's bra size, favorite colors, favorite lingerie styles, and then it lists 10 Victoria Secret online items that she would like. It has the actual skew numbers and everything.

This is the same bride that included where she is registered with her wedding invitation.

Now, I'm one who likes registrys, it makes gift giving easier. But actually giving a list of items you want on the inviation, to me is very tacky. Not to mention she is throwing it herself. Plus, I didn't realize you were supposed to bring nice gifts to a bachelorette party, I thought it was supposed to be more gag gifts. I don't know if she had a shower, if so, I wasn't invited.

The thing is, I can't make the party (she knew before she sent the invitation). But since she still sent it, and it included the list, does this mean I have to send a gift anyway? I could see her sending me the invite, even though she knew I couldn't go, so I wouldn't feel left out. But since she included the list of items, does that mean I'm expected to send a gift anyway?

This gift giving at a bachelorette party must be a new thing. I had never even heard of it until recently. I agree with you, it is BEYOND tacky. I would not send a gift if I were you.

It seems to me that some people have no shame these days. My husbands cousin just got engaged. They just sent out "Save the Date" cards for the wedding date. Along with the cards came print outs of multiple registries. Also included was a print of from a local store that offers the china pattern they chose at a lesser price?? :confused3 I just don't get it.

When I got married people were told about my registry only if they asked.

If anyone here would like to read more about tacky invitations, weddings, bridezillas, heck even really, really bad happenings at funierals go to http://www.etiquettehell.com/ Some of these stories are jaw dropping!:scared1:

Oh yeah, and listing where you are registered in any invitation or throwing yourself a shower is a big etiquette no no.

I think it's tacky. You folks oughta watch out for the tag fairy, there some good material (or lack of material) in this thread:banana:

If i were a tag fairy that is what I would choose:laughing:

I'm thinking a nice pair of granny panties and an industrial, cross her (big old) heart bra would be a good for this. :cool1:

That would be so funny. :rotfl2: But unfortunatly I'm not gutsy enough to do. Gutsy enough to make fun of the inviation on an anonomous message board. But not gutsy enough to do anything about it in real life. :rolleyes1

ohhhh......mail it too her! and, conveniently forget the card!

Or, to really throw her off, mail the granny combo to her (no offense, grannies; I didn't create the nickname!), but...in a dfferent mailing, send a card and gift card!! You'll divert the suscpision to someone else!
