I just switched to Ron Jon from Radisson. I called to get my shuttle to the port and they said either I needed to book the cruise package or wait until I arrived. I cancelled my reservations. We will just drive to the terminal and leave our vehicle there. I also used the 102 discount code.

I don't understand why the Radisson isn't consistent with this. Some are allowed to make ressies and others are not.
I called twice and was told I have to wait til check-in and then emailed and received a phone call two days later asking which timeslot we wanted.
To those of you who do not want to cancel, be persistent.
Although I don't see why we have to be, it should be the same for everyone.

Do you mind me asking, what do rooms go for at RonJon?
Just curious.:wave2:

I got a studio for $97 on a holiday weekend (Fri. 7/2). I know others are getting 1BRs for reasonable rates. I think it depends on when you cruise. I know I saved $22 over the Radisson.

We got a studio at Ron Jon's in October for $75 ($82.50 w/tax). We stayed at the Radisson last year and found the property to be a bit worn down...although fine for one night. We are looking forward to trying Ron Jon's, especially after seeing pictures of the place.

tchrmom- we are paying 108.75 for a 1 bedroom (119.63) with tax. We used code 102 for the extra savings. We orig. got a price of 142.00....Mark

I would recommend calling the Ron Jon reservation line for info and to book a room. We have found the reps to be very efficient and helpful over the phone. Depending on the time of the day, you may have to leave a message but someone will promptly return your call.

We also flipped our May reservation from the Radisson to the Ron Jon resort after hearing some great things about it and seeing some very nice pictures. We secured a one-bedroom for $109 a night using code 102. Kids and adults alike in our party are excited to stay at the new resort and have fun at the pool area and indoor play area, not to mention the other great options at the resort.

There is a recent trip report of the Ron Jon Cape Caribe Resort on tripadvisor.com. Looks like another thumbs up for this place. I'll be there in 2 weeks and I can't wait!!!

I received a 2 bedroom deluxe over easter break for 183.75/night +tax. I used code 102 for a 25% discount.

We booked a 2-bdrm for $183.75 using the Fl disc code for June 25 & 26. We also switched from the Radisson where we stayed before. There just looks like there's a lot more to do for about the same $$$.

Where is the ron jon hotel and do they have a website?

we booked radisson for the $85 rate and have free transport to and from the port. just called the radisson at the port and they told me due to the demand of the parking they has to make it so you got the higher cruise package ($109?) yet on there website it says free cruise parking and if you call radisson 800# for ressies they say the same this free cruise parking for any hotel room.

SpideyHulk24- The new Ron Jon resort is near the port. It is the closest oceanfront resort to the port. I believe it is approx 3 miles from the port. Everyone who has stayed there thus far has had great things to say about it. You can locate their website at http://www.ronjonresort.com You can also contact them at 1-888-933-303.

I still find it hard to believe that Ron Jon's has a resort. I can remember when it was a one room surf shop with a wooden floor. They've come a long way from being the place to buy cheap Levis and Mr. Zog's Sex Wax (nothing kinky, just surfboard wax).

scottie, Your link isnt working for me??? So if im booking my own air is this one of the better places to stay? I have never been to Florida.

S.S.WILSON- Just realized I had a period in the link. I adjusted my posting so give it another shot. It should work fine this time, sorry. The resort is very new and only a few DISers have stayed here so far. However, all reports back have been positive. If you want to stay by the port, this does appear to be a nice place to hang out before cruising. There are also other nice properties near the port too. I would suggest checking out Dave’s site to find out more about the hotels near port. You can get to his site via the following link. Click on the Lodging tab to learn more!

Did you just call up and ask for the 102 code and they gave you the lower price? Any idea how long this code is good for, or how far in advance you can book using it?

Thanks,
Julie

I just tried to book a room there with the 102 code yesterday and was told it expired. Was quoted $100 for a studio.

It is possible that it did expire. The ad says "for a limited time only receive 25% off rentals" and that was in the January/February issue of Florida Travel magazine.

Is the AAA rate still available? I think that was for 10% off.
