Another surprise trip cause mamma ruined it-NOW THE ULTIMATE FANTASY DISNEY VACATION

A couple nights ago Zeta told me he needed to go out because he needed a break. I was very accommodating and agreed to watch the kiddos while he got his well deserved break. I had all the kids in the living room watching movies and I must have fell asleep on the couch. Chi and Alpha woke me up wanting to know if they could put in another movie. When I got up I noticed it was almost 3 in the morning!!! I told them no they had to go to sleep now and I tried to stay up and wait on DH to come home.

The next thing I remember is waking up in my bed to my alarm clock. I got up to turn it off and saw that DH was in bed beside me. I was MAD!! I snipped at him to get up and told him that the alarm clock made that noise for a reason. He looked at me funny but got out of bed and went to take his shower. We had more words and I went downstairs to make my coffee.

I was just pouring my first cup and I was trying to remember what exactly had happened the night before. I remembered sitting on the couch watching TV. I remember DH coming in and it was daylight. I remember telling him I was upset that he had stayed out all night. And I remembered him telling me it was no big deal that he needed a break and then I remembered a dog coming out of his closet. Wait! A dog! We don’t have a dog! Sweet niblits that was all a dream!!!

I was all happy because that meant he hadn’t stayed out all night. But then I was embarrassed for the way I talked to him that morning. I had to humble myself and apologize to dear Zeta for me being so mouthy to him. Good for me he has a sense of humor and could laugh about it.

Well I need to get the baby in bed. We are potty training and he has gone all day without an accident. :woohoo: I am really hoping that we can go diaper bag free this time. It will be the first time in 8 years I have been to Disney without a Diaper bag. Actually, it will be the first time in 8 years I have gone anywhere without a diaper bag.

That's great!!:cool1: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:

We are hopefully going stroller free next time!

Hiya! I came over to check out your PTR. It all sounds so exciting. I can't wait to read more.

Some of our dates do overlap. We will be around from 5/30-6/11 and you will be there from 6/6-6/13. That is really awesome.

I also noticed your family was thinking of taking the behind the seeds tour at Epcot. My DS (12) really wants to do this so we booked it! Yay

I was also really having an OCD moment waiting for park hours to come out for our ADR and plans. I am so glad that everything worked out for us when the park hours came out.

Good Luck with planning, I can't wait to read more :surfweb:

I have some very realistic dreams sometimes, too!

Once, I dreamed that I got a ticket for running a red light at night; we have those cameras on lights that take a picture of your license plate and mail you a ticket. I waited for that ticket for a good month before I realized it had only been a dream..:rolleyes1

Sorry it has been so long. Can you believe they want me to do work here?

That's great!!:cool1: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:

Oh we are still a ways off from stroller free. Mainly because I pack too much stuff to bring into the parks. I think of my stroller as a rolling cart that can carry all my belongings while I enjoy the parks.

Welcome Annie. I was so thrilled when they released the operating hours for June. :yay: :yay:

That is funny :rotfl2:
My dream was so realistic. I felt so bad putting him in the doghouse for something he didn't do. I told the guys at work and they all think I need therapy!!

Hopefully I will get an update out today. It has been busy at work and even busier at home. Tball season started and guess what - I am their team mom! I have a problem saying 'no', can you tell?

Hey, we're getting more and more disboarders on this time. I don't have any idea when I might get to go again. I would like to take at least a week, not have to be in a great big hurry, and plan the days out like my DD does. It is so true that a planned time is very necessary, or most of the time :hourglass :rolleyes1 will be spent going in circles with "Where do you wanna go? I don't know, where do you wanna go?" or "What do you wanna do?I don't care, what do you wanna do?" And , therefore nothing will get done, every one will be bored, and all will be mad.......am I right?:thumbsup2 Even though I can't go this time, I still love reading about every one's plans and trip reports. I used to tease DD:laundy: about all her plans, but I think she is a really good planner. I already have 2 trips planned with my seniors group from church, and a couple of scrapbook retreats, but I still would like to go to WDW again. I just haven't figured a time frame yet.:confused3 So long, everyone:wave: I'll catch you on the flip side.:surfweb:

Hello! :goodvibes

I just finished reading your TR and have caught up on your PJ! I have really enjoyed them both. You and your mom are too funny!

Have you decided if you were gonna tell the kiddos for Easter our wait? :confused3

Can't wait to read more! Subbing! popcorn::

Mom, and when you do I hope you do a trip report.

Hey Tarah!! :welcome: I am trying to figure out where I know you from? I know I read some of your trip report a month or so ago but I can't remember how I got there if you KWIM?

Zeta has been having issues with his job. First of all he commutes over an hour which has become very stressful because he is a very hands-on, involved dad. Being gone from 6 in the morning until 5 in the evening makes it difficult to be as active as he wants to be in the kids lives.

Secondly, his project manager is really making him miserable. Apparently mind-reading was part of the job requirement and he just doesn't have that talent.

Thirdly, Zeta is a registered architect and yearns to own his own firm. This is hard when you are gone 50+ hours each week and are still committed to the kids the way he is.

So we have been praying earnestly for a sign from God on what he should do about his commute, his PM, and his longing to work for himself. And yesterday our prayers were answered. His boss called him into his office and let him go. So as of today DH is officially unemployed.

Therefore I am wanting to cancel (or postpone) our Disney trip. At the very least our anniversary trip will be cancelled. They have offered him a months pay so he has until April 30th to be drawing another paycheck. If nothing has opened up after that then we will be drawing money from our savings. Needless to say electric bills and mortgages come before Disney so if he doesn't have a job by then we will be forced to cancel.

At this point I am very grateful this was a surprise trip to our kids. Now, they won't be disappointed since they didn't know about it.

So for right now my TR will be put on hold until we get everything figured out.

I am so sorry to hear about your DH. I do believe that God works in mysterious ways, so I'm sure this will turn out to be a change for the better! :goodvibes Maybe you will be back planning both trips before you know it. ;) I will def keep a look out for an update.

Well, I was just wanting to catch up on the news here:surfweb: , and boy, did I ever. Don't panic sweet baby girl:cutie:, because my God is an awesome God, and just watch Him work when we trust in Him. O K, so maybe you go a little later than first planned. That's O K. Maybe some other costs will be down. Maybe you can luck up on some free dining deals. I will be praying for you both. I will also have your brothers and your sister:grouphug: put your DH name out to people they come in contact with on a day to day basis, to see if anyone out there could use his services. Got to go and do something here at work right quick, but I love you all. Keep the faith.

Oh lady, your family will be in my thoughts and prayers! DH has been looking for work for a year now, and I know how stressful that can be! We had to postpone our trip for a year, so I know how sad that can be, too. But, you have a wonderful family and that's what matters in the long run. Disney will always be there; you have to just keep your family strong through any tough times first, and you'll get some pixie dust thrown your way when it's time to visit the mouse again!

Please don't disappear on here though!! You're my PTR buddy!

Thank you. I do believe God will carry us through this. He did before and He will again.
Hugs to you Deb!

I will say a prayer for you!
Thanks
Oh, Debra! I hope everything works out! Please keep us posted!!!
He updated his portfolio and sent out 20 emails to different firms yesterday. Today he is working on calling builders and contractors for some side business just to get us through.

Hey Mom  I've already talked to Chris. Hadn't had a chance to call Darrin or Donna but I will. Ronnie gave us a good lead about a year ago so maybe he will have something too. Construction is just not the business to be in right now!

Oh, I wont disappear. Is your DH still looking? This economy is so scary :scared1: But you are right. Disney will always be there. And maybe if we wait we could do a longer or better trip :woohoo:

I am so sorry to hear that. I understand as we were having HUGE money problems recently. We are planning a trip with another couple for June and I never wanted to admit to them that we were so low on money and in debt that most likely we would not be going. Then we found out about the first time home buyer tax credit and soooo many prayers were answered. Now we have enough money to pay off credit card bills, our real estate taxes, and go to Disney! :cool1:

You just have to hang in there and know that something will happen. Even if you have to cancel your trip you will go eventually. Definitely, not telling you kids yet is a great thing at this point since they can't be disappointed! Times are rough right now and everyone just needs to keep positive and know that it has to end sometime and things will get better. Who knows, he could find a job next week;)

You guys are in my thoughts and prayers!

I agree, hang in there, and things will work out, maybe for the better!! Until then, just send ya big

Yes, DH is still looking. Schools in our area are laying teachers off at the end of the year, so we aren't too hopeful for this fall, either. We'll see though.

Right now, he's working 3 part time jobs, so we don't see each other much. It stinks. But, I've been told the first year of marriage is the hardest because you have to get used to each other's little quirks. Well, we're always so happy to see each other when our schedules are alike that we've never had a big argument or anything. (We'll be married for a year in June.)

And yes, you will get to go on an amazing trip when things finally get back together for your family! I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason; only better things await you, even if you have to give it some time to get there!

Thank you. That is awesome about the tax credit! I am glad that worked out for you. I am sure he will find something. He was laid off last year and had a new job in 2 weeks for more money. I thought it was neat that God worked through his lay off to give us more money. I am excited to see what blessing He has in store for us this time.

Hang in the Debra, things will work out:wizard:
Thank you.

Wow 3 part time jobs! that is a lot. You seem so happy together. I hope he finds that perfect teaching job that he is looking for.
