Does anyone know if this is possible?
I'm trying to buy 20 shares at the moment, but Selftrade is proving slightly tricky, hopefully I will be able to execute it tomorrow. However, we're leaving for DLP on 10th Feb so there won't be time to send something off and get something back. Is there any way of doing it over the phone or faxing so that we can use shareholder discount for restaurants etc when we're there?
I still want the shares anyway, but obviously if I can use the discount in Feb that'd be much better.

You could try phoning Selftrade and getting them to fax the confirmation of contract to you.
Then contact the shareholders club. But it will be tight as I would have thought 3 weeks was needed. Anyway worth the try for your February trip :goodvibes

I faxed all my info off to the shareholders club (copy of shares purchase and completed form) - I got a temporary form back within a week (which you should be able to use) or so and the full form within 3 weeks

Sounds like it might be tight, but worth a try. Thanks guys.

I phoned up the shareholders club and faxed them through the confirmation of the sale and my application form which I downloaded from their website. I then phoned the next day to check what was happening and they faxed through the temporary letter which was what I showed at restaurants and shops for the discounts with no problems.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I really don't get it! I thought I could go online, google buying shares in disneyland apris, find the page, type in how many shares i wanted, enter my card details and off I go...

but there is all this talk of accounts and trading and when you want to access your money blah blah blah

I just want to buy my shares and have a certificate why is it so diffiult to do that??? Can anyone give me an idiots guide to how to do it, I went on selftrade and it's on about setting up accounts etc. etc. I really don't understand.

I guess my biggest problem now is I don't own a fax machine, LOL!

Whoever you choose to buy the shares from be it online or from a bank you need to set up a trading account, which is really straightforward. Once this is done you then buy the shares you want to.

I wonder whether scanning and e-mailing would be acceptable as well as faxing? Faxing seems so old-fashioned nowadays anyway!
