Another rental home question...insurance

I've seen people mention that they take insurance when they rent a home. In looking at our contract, it states that rental insurance is part of the agreement (for us to get it.)

Please share with me where you got your rental insureance, approximately how much you paid, and what it covered. I've used insuremytrip.com in the past for cruises, but the rates seemed high, and the coverage did not seem to be what I would be looking for. Thanks.

Used insuremytrip.com for cancellation insurance for an emergency.You have to make sure you have a rental contract and some of the companies require that you get the insurance within a short time of sending the first deposit. They vary from 72 hrs to 2 weeks. I think there's a FAQ on the site that answers about vacation rental homes and insurance.

Q.Is it possible to insure the rental of a house or condo?

A.All of the companies on our website will provide reimbursement of a villa, condo or other rental property as long as there is a written agreement/contract between the insured and the renter. Reimbursement of your prepaid and non-refundable cost will be made if the trip cancellation or interruption was caused by a peril named in the policy.

Thanks Wanda. I did see that on the FAQ, but when I submit for quotes, the insurance seems more than I need, but does not mention rental home coverage specifically. In my rental terms agreement from the management company, it does seem like the rental coverage is more for residents outside the US. I'm still not sure if we should get it.
