First trip as an adult with a family...lot's of planning being done.
(I'm very excited!)

For those with experience flying out of Buffalo, how do you pick an airline? Do you use a travel agent or just call the airline directly yourself? Do they offer combo deals for air and car? Any airlines better than others? What about hotels for the night before, any suggestions?

We're going next April, and I know it's early but this flight thing is bothering me. I want it booked and done.

Any help is appreciated.

I used Southwest the first time and booked directly through their website-southwest.com. I really like this airline and the price is great. The second time I used Expedia and flew on United airline which I did not like nearly as much. I usually book my car rental through my gold card travel services- so I can't help you out much there.

What I generally do is go to Expedia or travelocity .com (not .ca) and check out who is cheapest. Then I go to that airlines web site and it is usually a little bit cheaper as there is no service fee being paid to expedia or travelocity. I know it is kind of cheating but I also prefer to deal directly with the airline I am flying with. I will either book with them online, and sometimes this is a great way to save and/or earn extra points or I will call them if I cannot find my exact days or whatever. It is amazing how they can accomodate you if only you ask! Good luck.

It's never too early to start your planning!;) Also planning is half the fun.....

We flew out of Buffalo last year for the very first time and loved it!:Pinkbounc :bounce: I booked through Southwest (great airlines) on their website and got a really great price for DH and I. You can also get deals on car rentals through them although I always go online to the car rental sites and book through them.:D

Happy planning! :sunny:

I do pretty much the opposite of what alohamom said. I swear by expedia.ca... for my trip in May, I got my flight there for $194.00 CDN per person including taxes on UsAir. Check around different websites, compare prices, and check the Budget Board often to see what kinds of deals other Disers have gotten. You can get a great deal if you are persistent and patient.

Good luck!

One of the airlines out of BUF is AirTran

Go to Airtran.com and sign up for their "Net Escapes" - it's on the homepage.

They'll send you emails when sales are happening.

We are huge Southwest fans :worship: we have compared other airlines but Southwest has non-stop flights to Orlando. I sign up for their updates and specials email notification and always get a terrific deal! My family of 5 can fly for about $900 Canadian.
