Another rave for "The Wave" !!!

Just left dinner --- honestly, we have been coming to WDW for over 20 years, and if this wasn't our favorite meal, it has to be a close second !!!

The Pumpkin Squash soup was amazing !! ( our server gave us an extra bowl, free of charge !)

My pork chop was amazing, and DW ordered the Udon noodles with grilled shrimp -- amazing !

Even the children's choices were great ! DD9 ordered the pork chop as well -- DS had a nice sized pizza-- both had fries, and daughter had a salad --- the "make your own sundae" was a great way to end it for the kids --- DW and I shared the apple cobbler with caramel ice cream --- bill was less that $100 !!

I waited afterwards for the mgr on duty --- had to compliment our server, Ali -- he was amazing, especially with the kids !!! We might try and go back again before we head home Saturday !!

Another plus--- we had gone a few years back --- was basically empty --- packed tonight, like it deserves to be !!

I wish we had your server! We were there this past weekend. We had Kim, who was really struggling / flighty, and forgot many things with our group of 5. When I asked her about my forgotten drink, she tried to tell me (kind of argumentatively) that I had never asked for one, but she'd bring me one anyway. When I asked for my dessert to go, she put the whole thing in a bag with the restaurant's glass bowl and real flatware I know they must have disposable takeout containers. All of us were unimpressed with the food. Several things were over cooked. Took 20 min PAST our ADR for us to be seated and the restaurant was not even 1/2 full. Slow service, which we felt was odd because we saw so much wait staff, many milling around, seemed overstaffed. It was really too bad because The Wave was the best meal on our trip last fall so we were really dissapointed. Oh, and we found out the server had been there 8 yrs, so it's not like she's new to the job. She doesn't seem very suited for a restaurant server position.

Best thing for us was the bacon and egg appetizer. Glad you has a great meal!

We were there in September, and I grabbed a manager and told her the steak (along with the other food we ordered) blew the Cali Grill out of the water (admittedly I think Cali may have had a bit of an off night as I'm one of the few that was not impressed with the place). Our server was also the best we have had on property. My daughter doesn't really like ice cream and saw something on the desert cart she wanted and the server took care of it without me even needing to bring up a thing (we had free dining). You are going to love the place.

Can't remember what thread I posted in, but I wrote How it was our first time this past trip. It was a Friday night 2 weeks ago & our group of 9 was quite surprised of how nice the place was, how awesome all the food turned out to be, & how excellent our server was as well...

This, as well as yours, was definitely our 1st or 2nd best meal, for sure....Love it.

LoL. Funny how you say this because, we finally were able to snag CG for our kickoff dinner to time it with the fireworks, & it was a definite disaster...On the contrary, Wave was our farewell dinner, & we'll be revisiting for sure for years to come.

I have a couple of very picky eaters in my group (adults) who might go for the pork chop or beef, but they generally insist on a side of mashed potatoes. Looks like that's not on the menu, what are the fingerling potatoes like? Rice, risotto, veggies, sauces, are all a no-go for these two.

What does TOWL mean ?

It is Top of the World Lounge. If you are staying at the Contemporary or Bay Lake Tower or if you are a Disney Vacation Club member you have access to this lounge which is on top of Bay Lake Tower -- From what I have heard it has a good viewing area for the Wishes fireworks. They pipe in the music too.

We are DVC owners so we can access it -- we thought looking at the Cali menu it wasn't our price point or taste so I had asked on this forum for other suggestions which would be a close walking distance to get up to the lounge in time for fireworks. It seems Wave is almost a little hidden gem -- I had never heard of it before receiving the suggestions to eat there. I guess it is a very easy elevator ride up to the lounge -- so perfect location for us.

All of these good reviews inspired me to try to get an ADR for The Wave! Managed to get a 7:30 breakfast ADR on one of the days we're doing MK. Super excited to try it!!! The breakfast menu looks amazing.

I'm sure they were delicious, I'd probably like them. However, sweet mashed potatoes would be a no-fly item with my group. I'm talking very picky eaters.

Some of our best meals in WDW have been at The Wave. It's like a little, undiscovered gem. The longest we've ever waited to be seated was 10 minutes past our ADR time, the wait staff has always been great, and we've yet to have a bad meal there. We actually have 2 dinners scheduled there for our upcoming trip. The only time we were ever bummed was when the lobby menu showed one menu and we happened to be there on change over day so were given a completely different one. I had my heart set on the gnocchi dish, but alas, that didn't happen that night!

Fingerlings potatoes are just little potatoes, most likely roasted with skins on
