Thanks so much for all of the helpful reponses to my last question(s)
Here is another newbie question....
How does the land/sea package work? What I mean is I Understand that on the sea portion you are getting room/meals/entertainment..but what about the land portion? Is it just your room? or room and themepark tics or are meals in there too? Also What resort do you stay in...do you choose or is it chosen for you? Do they transport you to the ship/park/ and back(to pick up your car?)

Sorry to be so dense but I want to have all of this straight in my head!

Also how far in advance do you need to book 3mths? 6mths? 1yr? more?

Thanks so much

There are some different options for the theme park portion. You choose your hotel (of course, there are different prices), and your tickets are included too.You use WDW transportation on their property and are taken to the port on the cruise line buses. There is an option called "Discovery Magic" that you can add, which will include two meals a day. Hubby and I have done that, and we were soooo stuffed when it was over! You can eat at almost any restauarant, and even the gratuity is included, so we did all the pricey places. We didn't do it in conjunction with a cruise, just a land-only trip.

DH and I have done the land/sea package, and IMHO, I would recommend not trying to cram your days full while in the parks (if you go there before the ship), and then try to do everything on the ship too. That's what we did, and it wore us out! Make a list of priorities of things you want to do, then do them so the important things are covered. I think on the land/sea, it's very tempting to try to fit everything in because you want to experience it all, but it's just not possible with the time restraints.

That's why from now on, we're doing either a 7-day cruise, or a 7-day park vacation. If you plan on just hitting the highlights, I think you'll be fine.

Also, we like the Carribbean Beach Resort. Our first time was our honeymoon in '92, and did it again on land/sea in 2000. It's fun, colorful and reasonably priced.

Lastly, I'd recommend booking at least 6 months out to get your choice of cabin. The cheaper categories sell out faster, and of course, like anything else, it's cheaper to go off season. We like to go on vacation in September for that reason.
