Hello all,
As i am taking a 14 month old with me to DLP I was just wondering what you all do for milk and warming milk while there?
We are staying at the Santa Fe.
I know from previous threads that there are no kettles etc, so are planning to take our own, but what do you do to keep cows milk cold etc? Or do you all just take some formula? Are there fridges in the rooms?
Thanks again you mine of information you!
Kath

You could just buy the milk when you need it from the Esso garage or the hotel shops.

They only have the minbar fridges which charge when you move stuff and from what I have heard they don't keep things very cold.

you could always invest in one of those mini fridges for the milk from argos about £20 or so, they normally come with in car adapters too so if you're driving it could be useful then too, the one i have kcan keep things really cold once it gets going and also can keep things warm though i've never tried the warm switch on mine. HTH!
oh but don't forget your 2 pin adapter!

There wont be a mini bar in the Santa Fe hotel. We just bought it as needed. Some of the counter service restaurants sell small cartons and the Esso garage near Sante Fe sells it as well.

I found the milk tasted slightly different and DS would only drink it in his bedtime bottle but all kids are different as DD never noticed.

There is also microwaves in the counter service restaurant which we used when we wanted to take the chill off the milk and heat up the food we took as well.

That's all really useful info. Especially the stuff about the microwave. This country is getting so health and safety nuts about all that stuff now, it's good to now that that is something there.
Thanks all.

Isn't the milk they sell in France of the sterilised variety, as oppose to pasteurised like we have here? If so then you might want to see if you can buy some small cartons here in the UK to take with you, even just for emergencies in case you can't get any?

I know that there are ice machines in some of the blocks in the Santa Fe.We stayed in block 14 and they was one out in the hall.
You could fill the sink up with ice and keep the milk cold this way,we did this with our beer ;)

We bought milk from the shop in Santa Fe last year.

We also took a small stainless steel flask with us and found this kept the milk cold for at least 12 hours.

:yay:
