sorry to beat a dead horse with the year of a million dreams post card questions, but.... the rules state 3.5 x 5 ... my post office only had 3.5 x 5.5 ... should i cut it down to 5? and if i do will the post office accept it? :crazy2:

i tried looking for someone to email/ call on the disney parks website.. couldn't find anything. i emailed the post office and they told me to call my local post office... but i will do that tomorrow.. thanks in advance

Oh that is so weird. I would cut it down. Probably a way to eliminate contestents!

Did anyone ever find the answer ????? I just bought what the Post Office says is official===== Oh Pleassssssssssssse tell me "my post card's count ?? Plus does anyone know how they keep track if you send in more than one a day? Just curious ? :wizard:

well i still have no official answer. i tried calling my post office today but since it is a bank holiday they had one person there who wasnt 100 percent on the answer.. for the most part he says as long as no writing is cut off, but to be a 100 percent i should call back tomorrow.. so i will have the official post office scoop tomorrow. still dont know a way to ask disney though!

I checked the USPS web site and the smallest item they will accept as deliverable mail is 3x5, so it is possible that the larger 51/2" could be too big. I am going to cut mine down, just in case.

OFFICIAL POST OFFICE NEWS... beep beep beep...
ok! well the post office says the smallest size they will send is 3.5 x 5. if you purchased post cards that are 3.5 x 5.5 you CAN cut them down to 5 inches. the only thing that must remain intact is the postage at the top.

CUT AWAY!!!!! YESSSSS!

Thank -you for checking ----- I hope the 22 Postcards I sent are ok ----- i so want to win something-----

Let us know if you win anything with the postcards. Good luck everyone!

Did you send the postcard the size it was already? Or did you cut it?
I am trying to decide if I should cut or send as is........

i would say better to be safe than sorry and cut it. since there is no way to contact disney or whoever is in control of the contest.. and it states 3.5 x 5... we should just comply bc as other people have mentioned before if they are the incorrect size it may be an easy way to weed a lot of contestants out. just dont cut the postage! good luck!!!

ps right after i sent out my first postcard yesterday i took a nap and i had a dream i already won something... i am SOOOO lame! popcorn::

I sent all my previous postcards in original shape, now after reading these posts I'm slicing off the 1/2 inch that they are over..I think it's silly to not allow the standard size that USPS is selling, but then again rules are rules.

Please let us all know of any winnings through the mail, that would for sure spike up the "I might win-feeling" for sure!!! :goodvibes

I confess I haven't read all the postcard discussion, but my husband and I wanted to participate and he is VERY literal, an accountant, you know, :thumbsup2 so he went down to an office supply store (like Office Max) and had white cardstock cut into the exact dimensions required in the Disney rules. THEN, I had to CALL Disney and ask questions. For example, he wanted to know, "Does FULL name mean first, middle, and last, or is first, middle initial, and last ok?" Also, it says the info has to be WRITTEN, so will we be discounted if we use printed labels?" :confused3

After talking to a Disney person who assured me she could answer my questions, she said it was ok to use the labels. So, we had a 'stick 'em' party w/our grandchildren, and labeled all our postcards, 100 for each of us. We plan to mail them out periodically throughout the year.

So, in short, we had our postcards custom made, labeled them with labels printed from our computer, and now they are ready to go.

27 days and a wake up and we'll be there.

who at disney did you contact? i was clueless who to even call about these questions. i was also wondering about where it said address including postal code. now obviously i would put zip code.. but does that include the 4 numbers that follow the zip code? did they tell ya anythign else interesting?
that sounds like fun putting all the postcards together!

To answer someone's question ---- I sent in about 22 " the wrong size" Just hope they count ..... I do so want to win something..... I do fine Disney's rules strange.. That they wouldn't go by the Postal Rules ----- Oh well -----
Is it cheaper to go the way the previous poster princess: is doing .. Buying the cards at office depot -then going to PO and buying 24 cent stamps????

at the post office they sell the postcards with the 24 cent stamps on em... disney technically isnt going against the post office.. bc 3.5 x 5 is a valid mailing size.. but the post office doesnt make them that way i think.. i dunno! what a debocle (sp?). anyways ive been wasting my time doing all this fuddy duddy instead of studying. im bad :stir:

OK so I just called the post office and the smallest they mail out is 3.5x5,,,some here say 3x5...ok so what is it...I already hand wrote 100 3x5 cards (or at least I think it was 3x5-now I have to measure...) I'm confused...please help!!!!

I know this is certainly turning out to be more confusing then it needs to be thanks to Disney's 'official rules' and then they made it worse by changing the rules once already.

First their rules said 3x5 then they changed them to 3.5x5. The post office's postcards are 3.5x5.5 and I've been told, more than once, that is the smallest size a postcard can be for the post office to deliver them...so I have not been cutting them down to 3.5x5 but just sending the USPS postcards the way they are. I really think Disney just made another mistake by leaving the .5 off of the measurements.

I know I didn't really help you but just wanted to say I understand how you feel! I'm going to just keep sending the USPS postcards the way they are and hope for the best.
