.My husband and myself will be staying at POP for our March trip and I was wondering if we pay the extra money for the preferred section does that help us in any way of getting a king bed? This is probably my biggest concern that once we get there there will not be any king rooms left and that will not start off our trip very well. How is it dertermined who gets a king rooom and who doesn't? Is it a first come first get kind of thing or does it have anything to do with when the reservation was made? I know this seems like a petty concern after all we will be at the World but I was just wondering. Thanks for any help

I can't help you with king beds at Pop. But if its very important to your trip to have a king bed why not go with a moderate. You can pay and reserve a king bed at the moderates.

I thought about that but honestly POP looks so cool! We stayed at CBR for our last trip to Disney and even though we loved it there both myself and husband found we spent so little time at the resort that it doesn't pay for us to spend the extra money for a moderate. I guess if we don't get a king bed then we just will have to deal with it, after all we will be on vacation.

My aunt and uncle just got back from Pop and they requested and got a King size bed. They were told to get there early and let the CM know, which they did. They were told that those rooms were reserved for disabled people and if someone with a disability checked in, they get the king bed rooms first. They had no problem though. HTH

Just got back from POP - I understand some rooms have King Beds and are Connecting (adjoining) to a room with 2 doubles - so kids in one, you guys in the other. Request this and get there early just to be sure.

Have fun - this place is cool

I don't think the preferred buildings has anymore King beds than the other buildings.

DH and I requested a king bed and didn't get one in the end I was glad we didn't. We went back to the room and rested in the afternoons and each took a bed to ourselves this allowed me to read if I wished without disturbing DH as much. Also while watching TV what little we watched it was nice to have my own space to stretch out. Night time sleepin I was more than ready to cosy up to DH in the double bed tho.

When you make your reservation for POP you can put it on a request that you want a room with a king size bed. Most of the king room at POP are handicapped accessible and many have the walk in showers with no tub. I know that of course handicapped people have priority for these rooms, but you might get lucky and get one...can't hurt to try.... :sunny:

We haven't had a problem getting a king size bed. True if you just have to have a king size bed ,one of the moderate resorts can accomidate you but you will pay an extra $400 for a king size room.

Thanks so all the replys. No I really do not want to pay extra for a king bed at the moderates, like I said before we spent so little time at CBR it seem such a waste on money. I liked the idea about the two double beds now when it was mentioned about reading. I love to read especially in bed but always feel bad about diosturbing my hubbie, great point! I am sure whatever kind of room we get we will be happy.
