Another points and sailing question!

We're sailing next year, June 12, 2005 on the 4 day Wonder. Our next cruise will be June 10, 2006 for DS's high school graduation. Will we be allowed to make the reservation onboard next year even though it's more than 11 months out? If not, will there be some way we can still get the "booking on board" credit when we do reserve?

Still trying to get a handle on how this is all done.

You cannot book a points cruise onboard but you can for cash. If using points, you have to make arrangements on board, then call MS within 3 days of getting off the boat. If it's within 11 months, you make the arrangements then. If it's more than 11 months but 14 or less, you just simply call back at 11 months out.

Do they make a note and then apply the points credit when you call within the 11 month window or are we not going to be able to get the book on board credit?

My understanding is you talk to the concierge just like you were booking onboard with cash. Then you call within 3 days of getting off. They already know what they discounted amounts are. Hopefully someone who's actually done it can tell you a little more concrete info. I don't think you get the credit if you're booking on points, you get the discounted points instead, hopefully I am wrong.

Hi, my DW and I were able to get the discounted points. We called MS within three days after the cruise, and they made note of it. Then we called back when we within the 11 month window and got the discounted rate with our points.
