Another Place to Pool Hop?

My Daughter is very disappointed we can no longer pool hop to SAB unless staying that resort. Does anyone have any suggestions of another great pool to visit? I wondered about the new pool at the poly.

I have a 7 year old boy and 9 year old girl who love to swim and do water slides! (They tried the pools at VWL and BWV and love them.) Thanks for the advice.

Poly, CSR and GF would all be options. All the other moderates also have slides they would probably enjoy as well. CBR would be very near to BWV/BCV/OKW -- not sure where you are staying.

We don't pool hop but have visited most of the resorts. CSR looks like a cool place for kids. Only complaint we have about Poly-and this is more an adult thing then kids- is that they have no hot tub.

I am renting some OKW points and wanted to make sure i understood you PamOKW, so the only one we CAN'T hop is SAB ? We can hop to any of the others ? Thanks Michelle

You can't hop to AK either. Be sure to call the resort front desk to verify they haven't closed their pool to hopping due to crowds.

CSR has a wonderful pool with a great slide that appeals to most kids. There is also a very nice playground, a volleyball court and the largest hot tub on WDW property. All of these things are conveniently located to the main pool. Poly's new pool rehab is also very nice but the slide is not as exciting for the kids in the 7-12 age bracket at CSR.

bigsis1970,
My understanding is that only DVC members may pool hop. If you are a member, you can use the priviledge, but if you are a non-member renting someone else's points, the priviledge is not available to you. I couldn't tell from your post if you were or were not a member. Someone please correct me if that is in error. Only AK and SAB are no longer available to DVC members who would like to pool hop.

The rule is that only DVC members staying on points at a DVC resort may pool hop. The item that proves this is your room key, which will be stamped "DVC Member." But when you rent points, or receive them as a gift for that matter, your key will also say "DVC Member." So there's no way to tell the difference between a renter and a member.

I also suggest CSR, it's a fun pool for kids... We haven't tried Poly or GF, but we will in November... Also, the pool over at Port Orleans might be fun (it has a cool serpent slide)... I don't know, I guess we're going to try them all LOL...

Are we allowed to pool hop at The Swan, I don't think we are but I heard they have a fantastic pool. I have never gone over to check it out, but maybe I'll have a drink at their pool bar this trip.

DVC members are NOT allowed to pool hop to the Swan/Dolphin Hotels (or to any of the DD Hotels). These Hotels are neither owned nor operated by Disney.

Another consideration. Before we closed on our first resale at OKW, we were staying there on rented points. I called BWV to see if we could pool hop, and they said "sure, just bring your room key and DVC ID". Well, we had a room key that said "DVC Member, but no DVC ID's yet. So we went to SAB that day. We will be at BWV in Nov. We don't usually have a car. I know how to get to the poly and GF, How do I get to CRS? TTC and then another bus?

I think we may definately try out some of your suggestions. Thanks for the help!

I'll assume that you would want to swim during the afternoon hours (but the options will work at other times, too).

IMHO, the best way to get to the Coronado Spprings Resort from BWV is to walk or boat to MGM and then jump on the direct bus to CS. Because CS is a convention hotel, there is sometimes a direct bus between CS and the Boardwalk. That usually doesn't begin running until after 4 p.m., though. Check at Guest Services to verify times. That would be a good option for the return.

If MGM is closed, you will have to go through DD and transfer there if you want to use Disney transportation. Or, if the MK is still open, you can transfer there. I wouldn't transfer via EPCOT, as you will have to use a day of park admission and walk through the entire park. If MGM is closed, AK will definitely be closed, so no option there.

You can always take a cab - that shouldn't cost more than $12-$15 (including tip) and will probably be more convenient than transferring buses for the return trip if you are tired and/or wet.

Enjoy!

No, i am not a member - i have just rented points from a very nice DVC member from here.. I will wait and see what the room key says and then give a call around to see if we can pool hop.. thanks for the info.. Michelle

Just wanted to say HAVE A GOOD TIME bigsis1970... your room card will say you are a "DVC member", you will be able to pool hop with no trouble (except BC or AKL)... I guess it's a gray area if renters are supposed to pool hop, but nobody follows up on it & we've certainly never been asked to show our DVC membership card...

Then why change? The kids love the BWV clown and like they say, the more the merrier! Bring friends! BWV guests love screaming splashing kids having fun. Just get there early so you won't miss getting the towels and pool chairs.
