We have been DVC members for less than a year now and already we are on our third guide.

Jim Bailey (out of the Schaumburg Doorway to Dreams) is no longer with Disney. Our new guide is Derek DeBoer.

Hopefully this one will stick around for a while. :-)

Wow!!! We have been members since 2005 and have the same guide. Luck of the draw I guess. Hope this one works out for you!!

We've been members since 2007 and still have the same guide. I hope this one lasts for you.

We've had him for a couple of years. He is SPECTACULAR!:thumbsup2

I don't know why I feel this way, but I don't have high expectations for the satellite office guides to stick around very long. In any case, Derek seems to be a very well-liked guide and I think he's been around for a few years.

We actually met Derek at the presentation Doorway to Dreams did downtown back in October, and he seems like a great guy.

He's been at Disney for 14 years so he's been around for a while. Jealous though, he's off to Boardwalk for a 10 day stay on Monday. I just got back from a 6 day stay. My DD4 this morning (after noticing the new fallen snow on the ground) said "Can we just go back to Florida? It was warmer there."

We joined DVC in April of this year, and by November our guide was gone. Hoping our new guy sticks around.

Love Derek; he's awesome. Have no fears - he will take good care of you!!!

Yeah, they all love working for Jim Lewis. He probably has a caste, I mean tiered, system for the sales staff, too.

Hmmmm. I joined back in 2005 too and still have the same guide:thumbsup2. I hope she sticks around for quite a few more years!!:dance3:

This is probably a stupid question, but what does your guide do for you after you have bought your points?

Are you changing or are they quitting :confused3

They keep quitting.

Our first guide....sold us our BLT points. Then right before Aulani became available for sale we called and left him some messages to call us back. Finally we went back to the Doorway to Dreams store to see him, only to be informed that he was no longer with DVD and that we were unquided.

That's when we got Jim Bailey and bought our Aulani points.

Then on Friday we got an email from Derek that Jim was no longer with DVD and he was taking over as our guide. At least this time the new guide called us right away.

Well that does stink. Ours retired, or at least that is what we were told when the replacement called us. I did not care for her and asked for a new guide. She was very hard sell, she was constantly calling, emailing about addons.

I do know that several of the CMs that work member satisfaction have left too.

just had to chime in - along with several previous posters - that you will LOVE Derek! He's our guide and he's ALWAYS gotten back to me right away no matter how small my question was :thumbsup2

Keith, this is off topic but I want to congratulate you for getting Adam Dunn. We loved him here in Washington and hope that he thrives in the DH role there.
He strikes out alot, but when he hits one............it's IMPRESSIVE. :thumbsup2

We have had the same guide since 1998. Ours only tries to sell us more points. He leaves a messge on our phone for each stay, Welcoming us home, letting us know he is still there and of any specials that are going on. Overall, when we have needed anything he has always been there. The last time we added on he said he only sells now to his previous customers and by their referrals. That must be nice!!!!:hippie:

Mails you all kinds of information about adding on....That's about it! They are sales people for goodness sake--I don't see anything to get too attached to! Our guide has been with us since we joined (about 7 years ago?) and when we did an add on, she was easy to get on the telephone and very prompt in getting our paperwork out to us...but other than that...they are salespeople for goodness sake! I find it funny how attached people get! I wonder if they get attached to their real-estate agents and car salesmen too! JK

Same thing here. We bought at BLT a year ago. We have had 3 guides since then. I actually can't remember what the new ones name is. I'll just wait another couple of months till I get another one. LOL. I wish I could win the lottery like I get new guides. :lmao:

Obviously they are sales people. Derek knows I have more than enough points, but that doesn't stop him from calling and leaving a message to welcome us every visit to WDW, or giving me the heads up on local events at the DTD store. Sometimes we just stop by the DTD to say "hi" and he always greets me with a hug. He's a truly nice person and I'm very fortunate to have him for my guide.
