I'm bringing my own officiant to our VR in 2008. Anyone have any idea if he is included as a guest at my VR? In my 20 that is. I am including his wife on my list of invitees...just wondering if I should hold a slot open for him.

TIA,
Lisa

You may want to confirm with Disney. If he is coming to your "cake cutting", etc., then he is probably counted as a guest, but I am not sure. Our officiant, Jack Day, did not come to our cake cutting as he had another wedding after ours. Also, I know that there are special rules from bringing an outside officiant so you should probably check on that as well. However, that may be only if they are performing a wedding. A vow renewal may be totally different!

Someone on this board had their uncle (I think) perform their wedding. I believe he had to go to the Courthouse and be sworn in or something to be able to perform a wedding in Florida. I believe it might have been UndertheMistletoe who did this and she doesn't post on this board any longer; however, you may be able to search for her trip report and find the information.

MommyPoppins,
Thanks for the info. I will just call DFTW and see if I can get any answers. I appreciate the info on Underthemistletoe. I'll look her up.

I wouldn't think the officiant would count, but you never know! Rev. Jack came to our cake cutting, gave the toast, and took additional pictures with us, and was not counted in our Intimate number, but that may have been because he is a "Disney officiant" for lack of a better term. Always best to ask directly.

If I remember correctly, Underthemistletoe was a Custom, so the limits didn't matter for her.

Best Wishes!!

I just got off the phone with Matt from Disney Weddings and he was WONDERFUL! Go Matt!

The answer is:

For my Intimate Vow Renewal my officiant (even though I'm bringing him) is not considered a guest. He is the officiant and he can come to the cake cutting ceremony and all.

Matt also said he would put me in the system and if I had any more questions, just to call! He was really very sweet. :wizard:He's sending me the fliers and such with info on them.

Thanks girls for all your input...Just wanted to put the answer out here in case anyone else had a similar question.

:grouphug: to all!
