Another new member ?

Now that we're brand new members, I was wondering if we get any kind of regular contact (like a newsletter or something) from DVC. Also, I recently had tea at WDW with a member who mentioned that she'd gone to a member's meeting the day beforehand. How often are those? Does each resort have them? Or are all DVC members invited to one at one resort? Will we see a difference at check-in at VWL now that we're members instead of cash-paying hotel guests? Thanks.

The Vacation Magic newsletter comes out quarterly. It's nice but you'll probably know everything from here before it arrives. They post the older versions on the Official Member website if you want to take a look.

Member meetings are held at the different resorts once or twice a week. They are interesting but are basically a sales tool. It's good to attend at least once. I'm not positive if VWL holds them or not. Once a year, in late Nov/early Dec. a real member business meeting is held for each resort. This is when they finalize the budgets.

I don't think you'll see much of a difference at check-in.
