Another new family member

Not to disparage your opinion, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Cheeto for an orange cat!!! :lmao: (Guess its my "guy" sense of humour coming out...)
;)

LOL, that's what everyone says, "what a cute name!"

I named the first two cats, Magic and Hershey so it was DH's turn and I guess it does suit him!

our 15 year old orange tabby is named Butterscratch....it was suppose to be ButterSCOTCH but our then 2 year old kept saying butter-scratch. It stuck! And, back then, he was known to scratch now and again (particularly when being squeezed!).

Today is is our old man and basically stares us down!

Adorable, whatever the name!!!!!!

Congrats on your new baby

I like "Twinkie"

I don't want to treat you like a muppet here but are you sure SHE is a SHE? It is very rare to get orange female cats, least of all pure orange/ginger cats...might want to double check before you name her!

OMG, this is soooo funny! I actually DIDN'T check her! I just went by what the adoption people said, even though they also said that an orange tabby female is unusual. So when I just now read your post, up in my kids room...they are in bed watching TV, and DH is on his laptop...I looked over at him and read what you wrote about checking! :scared1: Then I walked over and picked her up and spread out her legs for DH and I to check her out! :lmao: We both said at the same time..."I don't see anything!". :rotfl: (poor kitty had no idea WHAT we were doing..:rotfl2:) So I guess we didn't see any boy parts so she is a girl..I guess:confused3. LOL, that was so funny...I haven't had a cat in 40 years. Plenty of dogs, but they are pretty obvious on their "parts". Whew!

Thanks for all the name suggestions folks, keep them coming!

I had a male cat that same color, and named him Butterscotch.

Your new kitten is adorable, good luck on choosing a name!!

:lmao: I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing WITH you.

I grew up on a farm with a million barn cats, but I never looked closely. :confused3 :rotfl: Fast-forward 25 yrs, DH & I talked about getting a kitten, so his sister surprised us with a kitten from a pet store stating "gray male kitten". It wasn't until some vet friends visited that we discovered Son (I know, stupid name: but we started referring to him as our son and it stuck) was actually...Sun.

You can do an internet search on "sex of kittens" that might help you out.

Congrats on your new baby

I like "Twinkie"

I like Twinkie too! I have an orange female also her name was "Ginger" when we adopted her. We call her Gingi, or B, or Beast, or a million other nicknames we have for her! :rotfl2: In fact all 10 of our cats have their adopted names for the vet, and a few names each we call them here.

So cute! My sil recently adopted a brother/sister combo of orange kitties. She named them Ziggy (because he is crazy) and Mia (girl). Our last kitten we got in 2007, my husband and I could never agree on a name so we were calling him "Little Guy" while we deliberated. Of course he thought that was his name so we have shortened it and just call him Little, he doesn't seem to mind the name even though he grew into a very large cat :goodvibes I don't know why his name was so difficult to agree on, the 2 puppies were named within minutes :confused3

Our Orange kitty is names "Hobbes" but the kids in the complex all call him Twinkie when they see him sitting on the porch. I still say Butters. Or maybe Jules.

Hi y'all. Thanks for all the names, keep them coming!! Last night I went online and tried to find out if I could tell what sex the kitty is. I found a site with pictures, and found out that DH and I were looking in the wrong area, you have to look under the tail, not on the belly... Then after poking and prodding and lifting tail on poor kitty for about 10 minutes, I decided that I could not say for certain WHAT it was. So today I called the vet, took her in and two vet technicians took her in the back and looked, poked, prodded, and both said she is a girl..:goodvibes Everyone has gotten a really good laugh over this, except possibly kitty, who knew all along what she was.:rotfl:

Sooooo...keep up with the girlie names!! Since she is a rare kitty, a coworker said she is an anomaly...I even thought about that for a name!

PhotobearSam, we had friends who used to name their cats beer names. They had a Budweiser, a Molson, and another I can't remember. They also adopted an Australian Shepherd that they named Foster. I like your cheese names..

Ruby - she's a redhead and that's rare in a kitty, so she's very precious :thumbsup2

She is so cute!!! She looks like a "Peaches" to me. (Then you have to get a white one and call it "Cream.")

We have an orange SHE cat that looks just like this cutie (she's "Queenie"). The vet said it is rare, but it does happen.

What a cutie, reminds me of ours when she was a kitten!

By the way - I thought Ginger was a cute name too. LOL - I just read your message about confirming her sex, I didn't read that before my original post.

what a little cutie pie! i LOVE the names twinkie and cheeto! LOL

I vote for CC!

I have a CC of my own but it stands for Charity Case. She was a 5-year old that the local cat shelter was having a hard time finding a home for. I have a soft spot in my heart for animals like that.

Oh such a cutie and don't often get girl ginger cats :)

I would go for Twinkle or Twinkie aka Twink :cat:

Could you not change it to Tinkerbell aka Tink :teeth:

Claire ;)

Or you could call her TinkyB that might get by your husband as not Disney....
I have a kitty that looks like her and his name is Meatball....because the 2nd day in the house he stole a meatball off of my plate sitting on the coffee table...the name stuck and he seems to like it! Good luck and I hope you have many years with the cutie.

She looks like Oliver from Oliver & Company. Why not call her Olivia? It's a Disney name but not. Your husband doesn't have to know...

Mwahahahahaha
