Another name thread...please help!

So, our newest babe will be here in a few short weeks and we haven't yet decided on a name. This is our 4th baby, but our 1st little princess . I thought that after 3 boys naming a little girl would be easy, but it has proven tougher than I thought.

We have narrowed it down to two names....either Lilah or Louisa. Lilah does't have any significant family meaning, but we have loved the name. Louisa, on the other hand, is found in both of our family trees. We would probably call her Lulu if we went with Louisa. This name is a newer selection and DH isn't 100%. See, his nickname (stupid Navy Pilot thing) is Lou. He is afraid that people will think we picked Louisa because of that....I don't really care.

Other stats: Middle name will probably be Caroline. My boys names are Harrison, Ethan and Liam. Our last name is one syllable that starts with "B".

I have known 2 Louisas in my life and didn't like either of them.

I voted for Louisa Caroline Frances. It's such a gorgeous combination of names. Louisa is on my list for future daughters, too.

I don't know.. Lilah Caroline looks nice written, but I think it's too rhyme-y spoken. The "i" sound in both names is the same, and that sounds strange to me. However, her middle name won't get used all that often anyway, so it's probably a moot point.

I like them both but I do not like the spelling of Lilah - I much prefer it without the "h". Louisa has always been a contender for my kids. Never had a girl, though I voted for Louisa!

I actually love Caroline as a first name, and almost named my DD Caroline.

I like Louisa--particularly if there is a family connection. I think it's nice for a child to have that connection to their relatives.

Does the Caroline as the middle name represent someone? If not, how about Lilah Louise?

I think that Lilah would fit in better with your sons names. Although Lilah is an older name, it is more common to hear than Louisa.

However, contrary to what your husband feels about Louisa because of his military nickname, I like that it could sound like she was named after him. I think that its cute since she is his only girl.

Ultimately you should love whatever decision you make since she will have it forever.

I LOVE Louisa! It's classic, spunky, smart and sweet. It was almost our DD's middle name. We ended up going with the very-similar Eloise instead, just because it flows better with her first name.

Generally I'm not a fan of triple names so I voted for Louisa Caroline! However I think your triple names sound lovely too.

Caroline will be for my Mom who passed in June. Until my mom died, we were going to use Frances as a middle name for DH's dad (Frank) who passed 6 years ago. So, after my mom died, we decided to go with Caroline as the middle name.

Here's the question, is having 2 middle names too pretentious???

I have two middle names. But I only use my 1st middle name on all of my legal stuff. So basically, I just dropped my second middle name, its just easier! I really wish my mother had not done that to me! lol.

How would you like to sign First, Middle, Middle, Last names on all of your legal paper work? ( like a morgage, lol)

I voted Louisa partly because I didn't like Lila with an h. If I had a Louisa, we'd use her full name and not a nickname. I don't care for any nicknames associated with Louisa, though calling her Isa could be cute.

Would you pronounce Caroline like CaroLINE or like CaroLYNN?

I have a cousin whose name is spelled Caroline but pronounced Carolynn. It's very confusing.
