Another MAGICal Adventure - WBTA 2015

Just booked our flight to Barcelona :cool1:pixiedust: feels more real now!

:littleangel:

Yeah, know how you feel, :thumbsup2 we have booked our flights as well. Also booked a pre-flight stay at the Doubletree Hotel at Newcastle Airport, as we are on the early flight to Heathrow, and the long stay car parking :cool1:

Our flights there are booked as well as our layover hotel in Iceland. I wish there was more to plan. With so few ports and family planning our precruise, don't have anything to think about!

Hi Pat!

We're here too.... *Flower* and Mr_Smee from WBTA 2011! We're also hoping to do both the EBTA and WBTA this year.

Keeping our fingers crossed, as DH was laid off in May (but is working now).

Let the fun continue!!

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Signed up for this cruise on the first Southern from San Juan. We were also on the WBTA 2014 and I was on the WBTA 2011.

LOVED LOVED LOVED Funchal on the 2011 and can't believe we get such a short time there next year. I spent more time than that just walking around town!

San Juan WAS a nightmare both debarking and embarking - long lines, insufficient seating, no air conditioning, rude and inept counter help (1st time, local hires). However, Captain John really went the extra mile to make it up to us once we were back on board - free drink at dinner and a great apology during which HE took ownership of the disaster although it was clearly NOT his fault.

Turns out Customs and Immigration weren't the only issues. There's a fabulous cruise terminal on the Old Town side that is closed because they're deepening the harbor to accept "Fantasy sized" ships. Disney should have waited until that venue was reopened.

That being said - the Southern was fun and interesting. Many many Spanish speakers and entertainment, adorable children, lots of ports each with a different vibe, and lots of ladies wearing fabulous outfits/shoes.

Pat? When you have time, could you possibly add a line to roll call about "what you're celebrating on this cruise?" (I don't FE, but sometimes I card)

Just wanted to pop by and say hello and introduce myself.

I'm Helen, and my Daughter (Fallon) who will be almost 3 are booked on this cruise.

My DH will meet us in Miami and we'll vacation at Disney for a few nights.

There are people I know on this cruise, but I'd be happy to hear from 'lone parent' travellers with children of a similar age.

Welcome aboard! DCL was our first cruise, too. I never thought I was a "cruise person," but DCL convinced me.

Take a look at the activities on Page 1. Feel free to sign up for anything that strikes your fancy. If you have any questions, just ask.

Trust me you can not get bored! On the last one I did stuff almost 24/7 and was never bored and I was travelling on my own! There are so many things going on and as long as you are willing to try things then he will have a great time! Some of the things I enjoyed were the cookery classes (every sea day), trivia (various topics and at least once a day if not more), craft (at least once a day various things including making tile coasters, origami, scrapbook sheets, christmas decorations and masks), animation classes (every sea day), alcohol tastings, movies in the kids pool, movies in the theatre and even activities in the kids clubs (and yes I did go there a little too much for someone with no kids but it was so much fun!). Honestly you can do as little or as much as you like. Search online and see if you can find some navigators from past cruises and I'm sure he will see stuff he wants to get involved in. Also the alcohol tastings arranged by the group are really good as they tend to be a nice little group of drinkers who are there to have a good time. I loved all the ones I did this time and will definitely be doing at least Mixology next time as that was so much fun!

yes, there is, but we're not supposed to talk about it on the dis. Someone will come along and give you an invite "magically'.
DW and I booked this cruise while on the most recent EBPC cruise. We are looking forward to getting reacquainted with old friends and enjoying the company of new ones. We would appreciate if someone could "magically" send us an invite to that other place.

STILL HERE
no hotel or flight yet.
:confused3
:rolleyes1
looks like we will just fly into Barcelona a few days early . Son only has so much time off (YEA 26) maybe I should travel some before he gets there. I have friends outside of Copenhagen could visit,:confused3
Well enjoy your day.

I did check on EBTA 2015 the day it came out. WAAAAAAAAY to much $$$$$$$
for me,:confused3

It's wwwaaaayyyy more than that now- it's because of the new port visits. I reshipped this one on my last cruise, and paid $52 more to get $200 in OBC.

I wouldn't even think about reshipping that one, the price difference between when I booked and now is over $3000 for our stateroom.:scared1:

Yup. I'd love to do those ports, but not at that price! WAAAAAAY too much money!

We're booked on the EBTA, but whether or not we stay booked on it is another matter entirely! I booked it opening day and got a 10C instead of our usual verandah. The price for that wasn't bad, considering the ports. Now it's just ridiculous! We also have to consider the cost of boarding all the "children." There is only one place I trust with them and even though their rates are more than reasonable for the service provided, with our pack it gets expensive fast. I'm hoping for a Christmas miracle lotto win.

Hello wonderful people. I have officially changed again. A transatlatic will have to remain on my bucket list. Too many vacations and too little time. I moved to one of the Southern Caribbeans in January 2016.

Hope you all have a magnificent time!!!
