Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

Time for another WORD OF THE DAY, and with the holiday weekend upon us, today's entry is powered by alcohol!:drinking1

Today's word: ruminisce : To indulge in enjoyable recollection of past events over rum.

In a sentence: Drop by over the weekend, we're having frozen daiquiris and we're going to RUMINISCE about our WDW trips.

WORD OF THE DAY returns Tuesday, September 6. However I am on call should a verbiage emergency arise. Or a "wordmergency" if you will:cool:

And people always thought I spelled it wrong, see everyone in my family it IS ruminisce!!!!!! :rotfl::drinking1

We'll try to muddle through, but good to know if we run into a wordmergency someone's on call.:rotfl2:

If only it felt like autumn. We were invited this morning by another family to go to a TCU football game tomorrow night. I'm looking forward to it even though it shouldn't be on the 90s during a football game. If I wanted to go to an ungodly hot sporting event I would go to a baseball game.
If it makes you feel better it doesn't feel like Spring here. Freezing cold, and dreary skies although it's only early so here's hoping it picks up.

I would much prefer to be at one of Willy's breakfast destinations!

Very well done sir!!!

Did anyone else feel the OK earthquake this morning? I was reading in my living room when I felt my house sway. It's a cruel joke to make us have to worry about tornadoes and earthquakes. When people from out of state would ask if we're scared of tornadoes I would tell than that at least we don't have to worry about tsunamis and earthquakes but now I can't say that.

Maybe Willy and Sherry. They live about 80 miles from the epicenter, they may have felt it.

We definitely felt it.

It hit at 7am and woke me and my mom out of a deep sleep.

It was loud and shook the house for a good 2 minutes but we're fine here and no damage.

Heck of a way to start the weekend.

Being a weather nerd, I'm jealous that you guys get earthquakes and tornados. I know it's serious and that some people aren't as lucky, but I totally want to feel an earthquake or see a real live tornado in my lifetime.

Glad you're ok too.

We never had quakes here until they started that 'fracking' stuff a few years ago.

Time for a bloody Mary, Willy.

I'll drink to that Dan! :)

Shaken awake by a quake; first big day of college football. . . yeah.

:drinking1

;)

Thanks to you and Kim and everyone else for their concern; the center was about 80 miles north of here in Pawnee- no deaths there, but definitely some structural damage.

I'm very grateful we weren't any closer. :)

I guess it was felt as far south as Austin and as far north as Minnesota. ..

Unreal!

Felt it here in Kansas! My bedroom door sounded like a 350 lb gorilla was shaking it trying to get in! It woke us from a sound sleep, Dh jumped out of bed, and opened the door, not knowing what he would find on the other side!! House continued shaking for a few seconds after that.

There have been numerous smaller quakes since then, I can feel them in my head, feeling a bit dizzy!

True. I guess they will wait until another Flint type drinking water scandal before they make the oil companies clean up their act. Better drink only booze in the mean time. :)

Way ahead of ya. . . :drinking1

;)

Actually most of the fracking takes place in the middle of the state away from populated areas so no water problems yet, but if it's allowed to continue I'm sure it will happen.

The thing now is, we never had quakes here until 2011 and fracking, and now we're the earthquake capital of the country.

Most are smaller, but this is about the 4th one that shook the more populated areas.

Hopefully this event will tick people off enough that it's the beginning of the end of it.
