Another Locker Question

Hi all, sorry for another locker question. Our first trip to the dark side. We will be arriving in a couple days (family of 5). My dw loves her small backpack. Our children are older now and I feel it would be easier without the bp. Are the locker areas crazy and would those of you in the know avoid same? Thanks

The craziness of lockers is a little overhyped in my opinion. All of them are fine I think, except for maybe Forbidden Journey's, and I think that one is no big deal now that everyone goes through one line.

We don`t often need to use the lockers but when we do it`s always been fine.

It wouldn`t bother me having to use them again.

The lockers are very easy to use. After our first couple of times we've found we much prefer using the lockers than trying to cram our small extras into DH's utility shorts pockets.

A hint for the free lockers (especially the ones at Men in Black): they often only appear to be massively crowded. But that's just the people who don't realize how far back the lockers go, and how many stations there are to rent a locker. Just keep going towards the back, and you will find fewer crowds.

I will be bringing my Canon Rebel T2i into the parks with me in a Lowepro Slingshot bag (about the size of a typical backpack). Which rides will I need to put it into a locker?

There are rides that require NO bags be taken on. For those, you will have to put it into a locker. MIB, Forbidden Journey, the big coasters...put it into a locker. They'll have the lockers available for you, generally outside the ride, and they are free for a certain amount of time based on the estimated wait time at that moment (if the line goes longer, or there's a ride stop or whatever, and you go beyond that time, find a locker attendant!).

The six rides that allow no loose articles are Forbidden Journey, Dragon Challenge, Hulk, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, Revenge of the Mummy, and Men in Black. The first three are at IoA, the last three are at the Studios.

Are the lockers pretty safe? Thinking about bringing our Nikon D5000 and was wondering how secure the lockers were. Was hoping to tuck it away and go on all the crazy rides then come back to take pictures. Any problems before?

They are secure with a good lock. We've put our expensive camera and all of our belongings in there several times with no problems.
