I was just reading through the thread on the best prices for K-cups, and that prompted this question.

We just recently purchased a Keurig machine. I have used one before at my s-i-l's house and have liked it. I put off this purchase for a long time even though my dh really wanted one, but my old coffeepot finally died, so he finally got his keurig.

Here's my problem, although the manual states that the largest setting should give you a 10oz cup of coffee, I am only getting just barely 8oz on the largest setting. Each setting is getting me 2 oz. less coffee than the manual states I should be getting.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I only purchased 2 weeks ago, and I still have the receipt. I am wondering if it is worth my while to take it back and try a different machine.

Yikes I am not sure, be great to hear the anwser on it though.

Mine gives me a good 10oz when I use that setting.

I had this problem when I first got my K. I am about to make myself look like:rotfl: a huge idiot....

I wasn't letting all the water drain in before shutting the part the K cup goes in.

I can't believe I just admitted that. The sad thing is I catch my self doing every once in a while when I'm exhausted...

One thing to check is this: Open the top of the water reservoir and watch the little plastic spigot in the back as you're brewing your cup of coffee. I often seen some water drip back into the reservoir through that spigot while a cup is brewing. I believe it is related to there being too much air pressure built up in the k-cup (a natural result of the k-cup sitting around too long after being packed - coffee naturally out-gasses) or the grounds in the k-cup being packed to tightly (which happens a lot with solofill cups and My K-cups).

I honestly would call the customer service line. Your machine is warrantied for one year. I have had a couple of issues with my Keurig that they couldn't resolve on the phone, so they sent me a new one. They have had many issues but they handle them with great customer service. So don't be afraid to call.
