Another June question

We have been to Disney 5 times in the last 5 years, but always in mid-December or first week of January (arriving NYD and staying until the 5th or 6th) so that is my point of reference for crowds. This summer, my 6 1/2 year old son and I plan to be traveling to South FL to see my sister and are considering two or three days at Disney on the way back. The dates I'm looking at are June 2nd - 5th. Anyone with any experience with these dates? This would be a Monday-Thursday, mid-week, no weekends. Would I be better off arriving on May 30th (Friday) and departing on June 3rd or 4th?? I kinda feel like it would be better to avoid Saturday and Sunday, but don't know about mid-week crowds the first week in June. Most all southern schools are out by then.

Any info is appreciated. THANKS!!

P.S. I do realize that alternative lifestyle week begins in Orlando around that time, but checked their website and the official day at MK is on Saturday, June 7th so we'd be gone by then. Not really an issue to me.

This is one of my favorite time at WDW - I know that many schools are out -- but many are not! It's not nearly as crowded as later in the month. It's usually not so hot as it will be the 3rd or 4th week- coming for the midwest - we can sometimes still be quite chilly here and it's just so great to get into that warm Florida sun.

The kids love it because it's such a great feeling to do it right after school lets out!

Southern schools may be out, but MOST of the schools nationwide have another week. Crowds are not really light, but certainly are much lighter than the following weeks. Great time of year to visit WDW. Parks are crowded on Saturdays, Sundays are usually busy but not swamped. Weekdays are great!

I'd say that that time is about equal to going at around the end of August. Lines usually aren't that long, considering most schools are still in session. I suggest going. And if you do, have a great time.

HI G'sMom, I am right close by you btw. From PTC here.
We have gone the first week of June the past three yrs and I would say you should hit the parks during the week. It is lighter than the second week of June is . You can actually see the crowd build between those two weeks.

Thanks for all the replies, exactly the advice I wanted to hear!!! I think I'll stick with my original plan, arriving on Monday or Tuesday and leaving by Friday, June 6th.
