Another Jersey Week Crowds Observation

I was just on TouringPlans.com. Since the last time I checked the site they increased the crowd level to 7's for Mon. Nov. 6th thru Sat. Nov. 12th.

These seem a little high to me. I know it's more crowded Jersey Week, but when I check hotel avalability on the disney website there are rooms available for the whole week at all the value and moderate resorts. Also at AKL and WL.

Anyone have any thoughts?

That's also Veteran's Day Weekend. And I think Super Soaps weekend. My daughter went last year at the same time and said it was packed. We go a lot and she said that was the most crowded she had ever seen Disney!

I hear what you're saying, but I think last year may have been a bit of an aboration. With all the hurricanes last summer I think a lot of people had to reschedule their trips till November.

This year I think some people that normally may go in Nov. moved their trips up to take advantage of free dining. Also, I'm pointing out that there still seems to be a lot of hotel availability so maybe it will not be as crowded.

at least that's what I hope :teeth:

I was there that weekend last year, and I really didn't think it was bad. It wasn't empty... but it wasn't like spring break. The only park that was crowded was MGM, and even there the ride lines weren't bad... it was mostly people interested in the Soap event.

Last year we found that the Mon, Tues, Wed of Jersey Week wasn't too bad in terms of crowds, but the parks were considerably more crowded by Thurs, Fri, and Sat.

I am betting that Sat 11/5 thru Tues or Wed won't be too bad (but I am also guessing the crowd will increase steadily as the week progresses)...but with Veterns Day being Friday 11/11 and that weekend also being Soap Weekend at MGM, in addition to F&W...I would imagine that the 7 on the crowd level would be about right based on our experience last year.

We are arriving on 11/2 and plan to do MK and MGM before the crowd gets too thick and then stick to Epcot our last few days since it does not seem to get too crowded except during F&W weekends.

That's why the 7's across the board for everyday seemed a bit high to me. I wouldn't think Monday and Tues. would have the same crowd levels as Veterns Day and Sat. w/ Super Soap Weekend.

We were there in 2002 and 2004 for Jersey week. The only park that was really crowed was MK. All the other parks were walk right on to every ride.

I'm sad they we planed to go earlyer this year. Jersey week is a great time to go.

There's also a huge aerospace convention that week that got moved to Orlando from New Orleans that might be getting factored in (my husband's attending). I doubt it would have a great impact on the parks though - just on the crowd blog numbers since they take hotel occupancies into account (or so I think I read).

OK, this is probably a stupid question, but can someone please tell me what Jersey week is? :confused3 Thanks!

From reading prior posts, it appears that Jersey Week is when alot of NJ schools have time off for conferences. (This year the magical week is 11/6 thru 11/12) We are Minnesotans traveling during this time... I am keeping our fingers crossed for short ride waits... hoping we don't have to wait in line for more than 45 minutes. We were spoiled by going in October in the past, and I was hoping early November would be light in crowds..... oh well, I guess we will stick out from everybody as my hubby and nephew will most likely be wearing MN Vikings gear. All the NJ people can laugh at us!!!
