First of all apologies for starting a thread you all probably see over and over but I've not been to Florida in 5 years so am a bit out of touch with what's reasonable and what isn't. Pricing up for mum, brother (22 then) and me (25) to head out there next June for 10 nights. The price I'm getting from Disney direct, which seems to be the cheapest, for flights from Gatwick with Virgin, Saratoga Springs, DDP and tickets is £1490 each. I tried to do it DIY but it's only coming up about £50 cheaper so not really worth it.

Just looking for some opinions and to share my excitement that I'm finally going back next year :cool1:. (I did check indirect flights too but they came out more expensive than direct :confused3)

Who are you looking to fly with when you say DIY? I see you are in Scotland. Are you flying from Scotland? What are your dates and are you flexible?

Only asking as I've just booked for next June, flying out from Scotland too so may be able to give you an idea. I paid £575 for flights with BA from Gatwick direct to Orlando, and that includes our domestic connections from here to Gatwick

Price up the same trip online on the Disney site without the flights (room and ticket or whatever you are getting in a package) and deduct that from the total. Then let us know what the difference is, as that is what you are paying for the flights :)

I really need to update my location, my family are up in Scotland but I live in London now so they'll be coming down to fly from here. The cheapest flights I saw for DIY were also with Virgin/BA which were both coming to around £568 per person.

For DIY the costs per person were £568 for flights + £875 for 10 days at Saratoga with tickets/DDP = £1443.

Deducting the cost w/o flights from the cost w/ flights in the Disney package indicates they're charging £615 pp for the same flight as booking DIY. My main thinking point here is with Disney I presume I can oay a deposit on the full package whereas booking the flights DIY you usually have to pay the full flight price up front? Thanks!

Yes you can pay deposit only and settle later with Disney. Those prices in the package look like a pretty good deal to me and I have a good feel for what they are going for now for June/July so I can't see any reason for you not to take them. Don't forget to go through Quidco when you book for some cashback :goodvibes

We usually do a package trip but this year (for many boring reasons) booked Disney package without flights for next Summer - OMG I can't believe the flight prices. Nothing like the ones I had priced up last year and was expecting. At this rate I'll have to cancel. fingers crossed some direct flights come in at a reasonable price as I won't be paying £5000 for four of us. :(

Have you considered flying indirect? We are thinking about it for the first time next year as prices are so much. Indirect I've found flights for £4600 for 6 of us.

yes I have looked at that but with two out of the four of us already VERY reluctant fliers it's a definite no go for us. Just keep on checking daily and living in hope ;)

Will you be hiring a car?
Flights to Miami seem to be cheaper and you could drive the rest rather than a second flight? (We're considering this option as well)
