Another Insider package-New Adventures!!

We're in Maui now. Awesome weather of course. Besides hotel wireless, I'm getting a pretty good 3G/4G signal if that helps you. Enjoy!!!
Oooo, cool! Glad the weather's good, because it's great at my first stop in LA. I'm only bringing my wifi iPad, so we'll see how that goes!

when are you leaving for maui
Tomorrow morning. I'm visiting friends & family in LA first.

Well, not exactly "anyone who has taken an ABD"....only U.S. residents will receive it....the rest of us are the un-loved step-children, lol.
:sad1:

Yes, that's what they claim...however, sending a package with printed material and/or a gift to someone in another country is not against any kind of law. We travel extensively, with many different companies, and ABD is the only one who won't send us anything...no other company seems to have any issue with it. I think it has everything to do with them not wanting to spend the extra money it might cost to ship out of country. Bottom line is that it comes across as being the unloved stepchildren!
I know they've had issues operating in Canada, don't know if that would affect "soliciting customers" or whatever in Canada. I'd call & ask!

Sayhello

Thanks for the replys. Patiently awaiting the new itineraries. Hopefully I can book my first ABD trip!:goodvibes

What??? Again with the exclusion? :headache: Our money is good enough for them ... so what's the problem? Arggggggggggh

We still haven't gotten our photos from our trip and the tour ended 1 month ago. Kevin has contacted them so hopefully we'll hear what's going on.

When they sent us our predeparture kit, I had problems with them. They sent both packages the wrong way at first and my dad paid brokerage on one of them before I could tell him not to. I called ABD and they apologized, told me not to accept the other kit as they would cancel it and send me out another one ... shipped the correct way this time (with all taxes and fees paid by them). Meanwhile, they'd refund the money that my dad paid. Well, they refunded the money .... and then the courier tried to deliver the other kit again and then again. I refused. But then ... no other kit arrived. After two weeks, I called them and it was only then that they sent another kit out. And then the finale of this mess.... 1 week after we came back from our trip, I got a bill from the courier company for the taxes and fees for the package that I refused to accept!!!!! Took me an hour on the phone with the courier company to straighten it out!!!

I think they don't send anything outside of the U.S. because they really don't know HOW to do it without costing everybody money. :rotfl2:

I didn't get a package...maybe they sent it to my TA and they will send it along? Is it possible that you only become an insider after 2 ABD's...just like some of the other benefits!
I love the idea of the Coast to Coast Costa Rica, we ended up doing that on our own ( added the west coast to the ABD) It's great to include both in a trip there!

I guess these stories have been out for awhile, but I hadn't seen them until I started poking around after receiving the gift last week.

What better way to boost Scottish tourism, than to come up with an ABD itinerary? Maybe ABD won't contribute huge numbers, but it's definitely a very direct commitment from Disney. I'm really excited to see the details.

I received my book today--gorgeous! I've always been kind of surprised that they haven't done a Scotland itinerary, but hopefully this indicates that will soon change. Can't wait to see where they go. I've been all over, but this would be a great way to take the kids. So fun to be receiving all these gifts!

Still don't have my package.

Nor we--but I assume soon! Better still--just a week to go for the new trip(s) announcement! How will they notify those in the Insiders group re the details/booking info/dates? Email? Snail mail?

Got our package today..the book is gorgeous! Now I am even more excited to see the premier of 'Brave' during my Disney cruise next month!

We received the France package just a couple of weeks ago, and DS REALLY wants to do that trip. He is a big WWII history buff.

there are too many trips to choose from..i need more $ and more vacation time!

Got the book yesterday as well--beautiful! The ABD rep gave us the hint "Nessie" so there is no doubt about it, Scotland. But we are interested in the details--and wonder as well if there is a multiple country trip (England and Scotland--discussed before in these boards) or will the focus be all Scotland?

Also agree: too many choices, too little time and money!

Is it only Scotland or does it include say London as well (wishful thinking)

I'm wishing, too. We really want to visit England, and I love ABD even though we could do England on our own, but I've already been to France and boyfriend has no desire to visit France, so I don't want to book Nights and Lights. Would LOVE an England-only or England/Scotland trip!

If Scotland is a 7-8 night adventure, there really wouldn't be adequate time to go to London IMO. Scotland has more than enough to do in a week. Plus London is kind of far from Edinburgh - you'd spend most of the day on the train unless you flew. I'd bet you'll see a couple of days in Edinburgh, a day in Inverness with a tour of Loch Ness, and then somewhere else - Isle of Skye, Glasgow, Sterling... lots of options. Hopefully they go up the Isle of Skye which is the prettiest area.

I agree and hope that they keep it to just Scotland. I've had a chance to travel extensively around Scotland (even St. Kilda!), and I'd love to see them do the Isle of Skye, but I suspect it will be: Edinburgh, Loch Ness with Urquhart Castle, Stirling and maybe Glasgow. St. Andrews was another place I thought of with Scone Abbey. But I hope they surprise me with Skye, Mull or even Arran. Sure is fun to speculate. Looking forward to the itinerary on the 22nd.
