Another I-phone ? GPS/Maps/Directions

With my Blackberry I had to pay for data and GPS if I wanted GPS.

Is it the same with I-phone or can you get GSP's/Maps/Directions for free?

With the iPhone you have to pay for the GPS directions, just like on the Blackberry. I use the AT&T Telenav. I had it on my Blackberry and now have it on my iPhone. I think it is a better deal than the TomTom app that you have to pay alot more fore. Telenav is $10 a month ant TomTom is something close to $100 or more, but you have to pay to update it annually.

My son just has it on his newer model iphone. He didn't subscribe to anything. He doesn't pay extra.

One of the aps that comes pre-loaded on the iPhone is a GPS ap, free of charge, no monthly fee's. It's called maps and uses google maps to get you where you're going. We've used in a lot, it's quite handy! It does not 'talk' to you like a GPS does though. There are paid GPS aps you can buy.

I also just use the free app that comes preloaded on the phone. In addition to maps, satelite and street level view, it also tracks were you are. I've never used a GPS before but this is enough for my use. As far as paying for data, I think that you have two choices when you buy the iPhone, one of which is unlimited data. That of course costs more than the other plan. My information may be out of date.

Above all, I love my iPhone. I think it is the best gadget ever.

I have an i-phone, we pay a data fee of $10/month, includes everything online, as well as GPS, and other stuff.
