Which room type is it that has the pull-out couch in the room? We need to sleep five. I will bring an air mattress just in case.

That is the deluxe room. They cost a bit extra.

Yes. . I remember that now. I joined Loews First, upon your advice, and am hoping that we will be upgraded when we check in. If I book a deluxe, then get upgraded, what would the upgrade be? I believe if I book a poolview or garden view I would be upgraded to a Deluxe, if available upon check in. Is there a chance that if I book a Deluxe, then have the opportunity to be upgraded, they would let me keep the Deluxe room at the standard room rate?

They could book you to a king suite but that wouldn't work with 5 people. I think you would probably not be upgraded if you already had a deluxe booked.

Ok. . so that's good to know. I will likely book a standard room and hope for an upgrade. Like I said, we will bring an air mattress so if we don't get upgraded, we will still be comfortable enough.

Is it at all beneficial to show up early and sweetly beg for an upgrade. I suppose calling before we leave home to find out how full the hotel is might be advantageous.

the hrh has less deluxe rooms than the other two hotels.

cross your fingers and hope for the upgrade.

which loews card do you have?
if it is platinum, you have a better chance for the upgrade at hrh for the deluxe.

I do not have the platinum. We just joined and have no qualifying stays. And, we are going at a busy time - Spring Break 2008. I will continue to hope, however. We plan to arrive at HRH early in the day and, again, I hope that by begging very nicely, will have one of the first opportunities for an upgrade. Other member levels get their upgrades at the time of booking, right? So those of us still on the blue (I think??) level must beg at the time of check-in.

i had the blue card for two years and used it at hrh.
i went in june and october those two years.

i was able to get one late check out in june one year and also in early october. if the hotel is not at full occupancy, you can request a late check out which would be 2:00 in the afternoon. that you can get with the blue card. you also can get miles on united, amtrak and midwest air with the blue. you will get the welcome gift on all three levels of the loews card.

i did not get an upgrade but one time when i was at blue as hrh was full and there are not as many rooms for upgrades.

i booked for standard view and the upgrade was pool view.
if you are going in a slow period, you might have a good chance for an upgrade to pool view.

good luck, i wish you success in getting any upgrade possible.
it is easier to get the upgrade if you request it when you first book the room. always book the cheapest room and try for the upgrade.

i had better luck on upgrades when i moved up the ladder on the color cards

I phoned and they told me they don't have such a thing at HRh as club level deluxe rooms. Not they didn't have any at the time I wanted thast they didn't have any period.!! Think I will phone hotel itself and ask.

How many nights are you staying? I have been checking rates and the Mastercard deal is the cheapest way to go for us. You have to be staying at least 4 nights to get the free night.

if you go to the website, you will see there are club level deluxe rooms.
go to loews site and list hrh.
put your dates in and you will see the listings of the room types and cost

The reservationists wouldn't know about club deluxe because they can't be booked separately. You have to get someone at the hotel to place you in those rooms, most likely a manager or a room controller. We stayed in one and were only put there because I asked very, very nicely in an email to someone there. I don't remember who anymore.

I phoned and checked again after Fan2CSkr give me the info that they do have the deluxe club rooms but they can't be booked . They can be requested but they are not available for booking.
I am going to email the hotel itself and ask ever so politely if we could have a deluxe instead.

Okay, if they can't be booked, how does one get one? If you oh so politely request one & are lucky enough to get it, is it a "free upgrade" or do you pay more? How much more... hmmmm.

How does one get ahold of the HRH's actual email?
