Another hefty price increase

Consider most restaurants charge $2-3 for fountain drinks, those prices aren't horrible.

As stated above .. compared to a sporting event that is pretty good.

The costs of the "kids" drinks are pretty expensive though. I am not sure how large those are (hopefully larger than a juice box). What is shocking is you usually get juice or milk included with kids meals at most restaurants. Those kid's meals cost as much total as some of these drinks.

EXACTLY. The fountain drinks are alright, not a big deal, you'd paid that kind of price for a McDonald's soft drink anyway, well lower, but I hope you get what I'm saying. Those children drinks are way overpriced.

Looking at my old Disney spreadsheets back in 2005 or 2006 (not sure the exact time I pulled the data), the Dining Plan was $35 for an adult and $10 for a child. Which included an appetizer, dessert and tip for Dinner. When I went in Jan of this year it was $61.82 for adult and $20.98 child and does not include the appetizer or tip. We were spoiled back then!!!

This was inevitable given the recent increases for dining plan pricing. I mean, prices go up every year, maybe even several times a year. But in order to keep it possible to save money on the dining plan, or to make people think it's a good deal, prices for food/drinks had to go up with the price of the dining plan.

Yep, I used to get the deluxe dining plan for me and the boys back then. Now, we pay out of pocket, share meals and bring our breakfast. Still end up.paying the same as the deluxe dining plan cost us back then. I get that the price of everything increases, but almost double the cost and less benefits in just 10 years is a bit excessive in my opinion.

I've never been one to bring my own food in, (except for my food allergy babies) but I think I will need to do so this trip. A cooler with some drinks and snacks in the bottom of the stroller will save quite a bit these days! We also used to always do the dining plan, but there's no way with the current pricing! I know prices increase, but the rate Disney is going is nuts.

I am planning on eating most breakfasts in the house we are renting this year, and carrying sandwiches for lunch most days, so that we are only eating one meal a day in the parks. For drinks, I'll bring bottled water for lunch, and take advantage of the free tap water at QS locations the rest of the day.

a 20 oz bottle of Coke is now $3. Might be before tax too. I'll buy them on short visits but on long ones I'll buy them elsewhere.

Doesn't much help to buy them at the airport anymore, they are almost as much there now.
