Another FOTL pass question re:check out

Thanks to cheap tickets deal, we decided to stay Thursday & Friday nights at a Universal hotel (probably Hard Rock), & go to the parks Friday & Saturday.

How does checking out on Saturday effect that day's FOTL pass? I understand we all get keys, & Friday's passes I have no question about, but since we're technically not eligible to be in our room Saturday, are the FOTL passes still effective all day Saturday?

This is one of the best kept secrets about staying onsite deluxe at Universal. Even people I talk to down here in FL have no idea the benefit of staying onsite when I explain.

Before they changed their site to the "mobile-friendly" version, Loews had a lovely FAQ link for each onsite hotel that laid it all out clearly, when the benefits start (as soon as you check in) and when do they end (midnight checkout day).
