Would it be better to try to book my Fantasmic seating myself, or go through Guest Relations? I am staying on-sight. I'm hoping for balcony first seating during the busy holiday period, so I expect a little competition. Who has had good (or bad) experience with guest relation bookings?

I personally have not used vacation planning, mostly because I stay offsite more than onsite. But I've heard very good praises of their services. As far as I know, everyone who used them, as long as they let their request be known prior to the date needed to call, has been able to get the seating they wanted.

Thanks for answering (and for translating). I've never used Vacation Planning before, but I think I might just give it a try.

I had Disney Vacation Planning book my balcony seating for me, and it was very easy. I just called them about 37 days out (I tried calling earlier, but they wouldn't even take my information until it got closer). They took care of everything, and called me up to let me know that I was all set a half hour after seats went onsale.

That's very encouraging. I'm just about 37 days out now!

you are instructed to check in an hour before show time and come back 1/2 an hour before for seating. Make sure to check in early, if you are the first to check in you are the first to get a seat and they treat you very special. We were the first to check and when we came back they were like "Ms. Velasco, right this way." And they guide you to the best seats while everyone waiting behing the rope dying with envy!! They have a desert buffet and the waiters bring you drinks and talk to you before the show, it's such a good experience. Haha, i got carried away! but my point was just to check in early!

Hey CalGal... do you go to berkeley? I go to Berkeley too! I live in SF. I would say what a small world but I guess this is the difinitve board for all things disney parks related.
